A shotshell comprising a casing having a top end and bottom end, and a longitudinal axis that runs from the top end to the bottom end; a base disposed at and sealing the bottom end of the casing; a propellant disposed toward the bottom end of the casing, above the base; a primer set into the base and in contact with the propellant; a wad disposed above the propellant; a plurality of shot pellets; a payload carrier disposed between the wad and the top end of the casing, the payload carrier comprising one or more longitudinal chambers, each chamber configured to store a portion of the plurality of shot pellets in a single file column aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis of the casing.

Accurate, low recoil shotshell

A simulator which provides competing and opposing stimuli for objects appearing to approach or retreat from the user in order to reduce simulator sickness. A simulator controller (92) monitors the pixels taken up by an object. When an object appears to take up more pixels, the controller interprets the object as appearing to approach the user (96). The controller inserts a complementary object which appears to do the opposite of the primary object detected by the simulator controller (92). Both objects are displayed on a video display (94) viewed by the user (96).

Competing opposing stimulus simulator sickness reduction technique

The present invention relates to a method and device for providing a graphical user interface between an individual soldier and a computer-based warfare system worn by him. The graphical user interface is made up of icon-based visual control and information screens that the soldier views on a display and manipulates with a computer mouse-like device. The interface allows the individual soldier to: view information gathered by a variety of sources, including sensor components, radios, and satellites; process information using a variety of input devices and software utilities; and, act on that information using weapons, communications devices, and the like. The graphical user interface organizes information into three distinct 'combat task' groups and provides the soldier with easily understood pictorial icons to select. By tailoring the information to a particular situation, the graphical user interface allows the soldier to view critical data without being overwhelmed by too much information.
