A hydraulically-actuated variable camshaft timing (VCT) assembly, including a stator having one or more fluid chambers; a rotor received by the stator, and configured to be angularly displaced relative to the stator, having one or more radially extending vanes positioned within the fluid chambers; one or more end plates coupled with the stator and at least partially defining the fluid chambers; and an end plate seal abutting the end plate(s) and the radial surface of the rotor.

A rotor assembly used in an electric motor, includes a rotor having an inner diameter, an outer diameter, and a plurality of rotor slots; a plurality of permanent magnets received within the rotor slots; and a rotor plate having an inner diameter, an outer diameter, and an outer lip extending away from a radial face of the rotor plate toward the rotor, wherein an adhesive bonds the rotor plate to a radial face of the rotor.

An electrically-actuated variable camshaft timing (VCT) assembly includes a gearbox assembly including an input; an electric motor having a rotor, a stator, and a motor shaft that is coupled with the input of the gearbox assembly, wherein the motor shaft includes etchings, on an outer surface of the motor shaft, that releasably couple the motor shaft to the rotor at a center aperture of the rotor when an amount of torque exerted on the motor shaft via the gearbox assembly is less than or equal to a predetermined torque value, and the etchings are further configured to decouple the motor shaft from the rotor when the amount of torque exerted on the motor shaft is greater than the predetermined torque value.

A hydraulically-actuated camshaft phaser includes a camshaft sprocket having a plurality of teeth configured to engage an endless loop that transmits angular motion from the crankshaft to the hydraulically-actuated camshaft phaser; a rotor, coupled with the camshaft sprocket to prevent angular movement between the camshaft sprocket and the rotor, that includes one or more vanes extending radially outwardly forming a plurality of fluid chambers; and a housing that selectively changes angular position relative to the rotor and the crankshaft and is configured to be linked with a variable phase camshaft to change the angular position of the variable phase camshaft relative to the crankshaft.

A variable camshaft timing assembly that comprises a hub including at least one vane extending radially-outwardly away from a center axis; an elongated camshaft sleeve, configured to be received at least partially by an inner cavity of a camshaft, having a substantially annular outer surface including a distal bearing section, an end bearing section, and a hub section: the distal bearing section configured to be positioned radially-inwardly from and concentric with a distal bearing of the camshaft and to provide support to the distal bearing; the end bearing section, axially spaced from the distal bearing section, configured to be positioned radially-inwardly from and concentric with an end bearing of the camshaft and to provide support to the end bearing; and the hub section, configured to engage the hub, located axially between the distal bearing section and the end bearing section.
