Coated substrates and methods may comprise a multi-unit carbodiimide. The multi-unit carbodiimide may also be combined with a siloxane. The multi-unit carbodiimide and/or the siloxane may be used in a surface coating applied to a substrate, and an overcoat may be applied to the surface coating. The surface coating may chemically interact with the overcoat and/or the substrate to improve corrosion resistance and other properties of the coated substrate.

Coating compositions and methods including carbodiimides

The present invention is directed towards curable film-forming coating compositions comprising metal particles; an alkaline earth metal compound comprising an alkaline earth metal oxide, an alkaline earth metal carbonate, an alkaline earth metal hydroxide, an alkaline earth metal sulfate, an alkaline earth metal monocarboxylate, an alkaline earth metal phosphate, or combinations thereof; and an organic film-forming binder. Also disclosed are methods of making curable film-forming coating compositions, methods of coating substrates, and coated substrates resulting therefrom.

Coating compositions having improved corrosion resistance

A curable coating composition includes: (a) a binder having a film-forming resin with at least two functional groups, and (ii) a curing agent reactive with the functional groups of the film-forming resin; and (b) solid vulcanized rubber particles that are unreactive with the binder. The curable coating composition is a solid particulate powder coating composition. Multi-layer coating systems, coated substrates, and methods of preparing the curable coating composition are also disclosed.

Impact resistant coating compositions, multi-layer coating systems, and substrates at least partially coated with such compositions

The present invention relates to a substrate having (a) a first material applied to at least a portion of the substrate, and (b) a coating layer deposited from a powder coating composition including a film-forming resin, and optionally a crosslinker that is reactive with the film-forming resin, in direct contact with at least a portion of the substrate to which the first material has been applied. The first material is (i) a catalyst that catalyzes cure of the powder coating composition, (ii) a component reactive with the film-forming resin and/or the crosslinker of the powder coating composition, and/or (iii) a rheology modifier.

Coated substrates and methods of preparing the same

An extraction system that includes a cooling chamber and a closed extraction loop. The cooling chamber includes a body, a lid, and an interior defined therebetween, as well as a channel extending through the cooling chamber body from the interior to the exterior. The closed extraction loop includes a first extraction loop component located within the interior of the cooling chamber and a second extraction loop component located exterior to the cooling chamber. A fluid line is incorporated into the channel defined in the cooling chamber body and is fluidly connected to the first extraction loop component and the second extraction loop component, thereby enabling fluid transfer between them. Impact resistant coating compositions

Coating compositions are disclosed that include corrosion resisting particles such that the coating composition can exhibit corrosion resistance properties. Also disclosed are substrates at least partially coated with a coating deposited from such a composition and multi-component composite coatings, wherein at least one coating later is deposited from such a coating composition. Methods and apparatus for making ultrafine solid particles are also disclosed.

Coating compositions exhibiting corrosion resistance properties and related coated substrates

Techniques are provided for the optimal matching of teachers to students using machine learning models and analysis engines (MLMAEs). In an embodiment, historical and biographical teacher and student data is collected through a data ingestion layer. As the data is ingested, a process is spawned that automatically builds MLMAEs using a plurality of algorithms. The MLMAEs are automatically tested for accuracy, and the MLMAE with the highest level of accuracy is promoted as the winner. Students enter information through a user interface to request optimal teachers for a subject area, and this information is run against the winning MLMAE which returns a list of optimal teachers. Also provided are techniques for teachers to enter their availability, techniques for MLMAE creators to seamlessly test prospective new MLMAEs, and techniques for teachers to understand why they are not matches for specific segments of students and to receive associated professional development resources.

Method for matching students with teachers to achieve optimal student outcomes

A multi-layer coating that transmits and reflects light can include a first coating layer and a second coating layer applied over the first coating layer. The first coating layer is prepared from a coating composition that includes a film forming resin, crosslinked organic particles, and inorganic pigment particles. The crosslinked organic particles and the inorganic pigment particles each have a refractive index that is different from the refractive index of the film forming resin. The second coating layer is prepared from a coating composition that includes a film forming resin and reflective and/or translucent particles.

Light diffusing and reflective coatings

A powder coating composition grindable at non-cryogenic temperatures includes: (a) a first polymer having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of more than 1,000 and a Tg of at least 40&#xb0; C.; (b) a second polymer having a Tm of at least 100&#xb0; C.; and optionally (c) a cross-linker. The first polymer and the second polymer are different from one another, and each of the first and second polymers have less than 25 wt % fluorine-containing monomeric units, with wt % based on the total weight of the monomeric units in each polymer. Upon grinding at a temperature above 4&#xb0; C. the coating composition has an average particle size from 15 to 150 microns. Further coating compositions, methods of preparing coating compositions, coating systems, and substrates coated with a powder coating composition are also disclosed.

A corrosion inhibitor can include (a) an inorganic alkali and/or alkaline earth metal compound and (b) an aldehyde and/or ketone component comprising at least one aromatic ring comprising a ketone and/or aldehyde group and at least one pendant group represented by &#x2014;OR. Each Ris independently selected from hydrogen, an alkyl group, or an aryl group. The coating composition can be used in a multi-layer coating with additional coating layers. Methods of preparing coating compositions with corrosion inhibitors and substrates at least partially coating with such compositions are also included.
