Disclosed herein is a vehicle including a frame, and a stabilizer apparatus including a pressure source, first and second fluid-actuated stabilizer assemblies connected respectively to the front and rear axles shiftably moveable on the frame, one of the first and second stabilizer assemblies normally being locked against extension and contraction in the absence of pressurization thereof by the pressure source, and the other of the first and second stabilizer assemblies normally being free to extend and contract in the absence of pressurization thereof by the pressure source, hydraulic circuit connected between the pressure source and the first and second fluid activated stabilizer assemblies and including flow controller operable between a first mode wherein the pressure source is disconnected from the first and second stabilizer assemblies, whereby the one of the stabilizer assemblies is locked against extension and retraction, thereby locking the axle connected thereto against shifting movement relative to the frame, and whereby the other of the stabilizer assemblies is free to extend and retract, thereby permitting shifting movement relative to the frame of the axle connected thereto, and a second mode wherein the pressure source is selectively connectable to the first and second stabilizer assemblies for selective pressurization thereof by the pressure source so as to selectively extend and retract the first and second stabilizer assemblies.

Forklift stabilizing apparatus

Disclosed herein is a vehicle including a frame, and a stabilizer apparatus including a pressure source, first and second fluid-actuated stabilizer assemblies connected respectively to the front and rear axles shiftably moveable on the frame, one of the first and second stabilizer assemblies normally being locked against extension and contraction in the absence of pressurization thereof by the pressure source, and the other of the first and second stabilizer assemblies normally being free to extend and contract in the absence of pressurization thereof by the pressure source, a hydraulic circuit connected between the pressure source and the first and second fluid activated stabilizer assemblies and including a flow controller operable between a first mode wherein the pressure source is disconnected from the first and second stabilizer assemblies, whereby the one of the stabilizer assemblies is locked against extension and retraction, thereby locking the axle connected thereto against shifting movement relative to the frame, and whereby the other of the stabilizer assemblies is free to extend and retract, thereby permitting shifting movement relative to the frame of the axle connected thereto, and a second mode wherein the pressure source is selectively connectible to the first and second stabilizer assemblies for selective pressurization thereof by the pressure source so as to selectively extend and retract the first and second stabilizer assemblies.

A vehicle having at least four wheels comprising a pair of front wheels and a pair of rear wheels, first and second reversible hydraulic cylinders coupled respectively to the front wheels for turning the same and third and fourth hydraulic cylinders coupled respectively to the rear wheels for turning the same, a hydraulic pressure source, a hydraulic circuit for selectively coupling each of the cylinders to the hydraulic pressure source for simultaneously turning the front and rear wheels whereby the vehicle may be turned in either a right-hand or a left-hand direction. The hydraulic circuit includes a flow controller in circuit between the pressure source and the hydraulic cylinders for bypassing hydraulic fluid around one pair of hydraulic cylinders when that pair of cylinders orients its wheels in a forward direction during a transition from a turn in one direction to a turn in the opposite direction until the other pair of wheels are also oriented in a forward direction, the flow controller being operative to return fluid flow to the one pair of cylinders when both the front and rear wheels are oriented forwardly for continued transitional movement of all wheels to a turn in the opposite direction.

Four-wheel steering system for vehicles

A brake system for a vehicle includes a pump coupled to a service brake through a brake pedal valve and to a parking brake by a four-way solenoid valve which also couples the pump to a transmission disconnect valve. Activation of the solenoid valve couples the parking brake to the pump for placing the parking brake in an off mode and actuates the transmission disconnect valve to couple a transmission pump to a transmission valve. Deactivation of the solenoid valve disconnects the parking brake and operates the transmission disconnect valve to disconnect the transmission so that the vehicle cannot be driven when the parking brake is on. A check valve connects the parking brake to the brake pedal valve so that the service brake can be operated when the pump is deactivated.

Vehicle brake system

An electrohydraulic control system for a pair of hydraulically actuated vehicle transmission clutches operable to effect high and low speed ranges. High and low hydraulic clutch valves are pilot operated by a solenoid valve which delivers pressurized fluid to pressure chambers associated with the flow control elements of the clutch valves. The solenoid valve is controlled by a circuit which includes a relay operated switch, a manually operated switch controlling the relay operated switch and a clutch pedal operated switch in series with the manually operated switch. The relay operated switch opens when the clutch pedal is operated thereby causing the transmission to be in a low speed condition when inching the vehicle.

Electrohydraulic power shift transmission system

A mechanical detent release for a power shift transmission selector valve operating through a mechanical linkage connected to the clutch pedal operating the inching valve. The mechanical detent releases in response to a spring in the transmission selector valve spool engaging a cam on the clutch pedal of the inching valve which permits the selector valve to return to the low speed position when the inching valve is operated.

A load sensitive hydraulic system for operating auxiliary equipment on a vehicle with a priority flow control valve to provide priority pressure in operating a regenerative steering circuit of the hydraulic system. The regenerative hydraulic steering circuit provides load sensing and utilizes single source of pressurized fluid which responds to various loads in the hydraulic system. A priority valve assures that the steering demands are met before providing adequate pressure for all other auxiliary functions.

Load sensitive hydraulic system

A control valve operated by the steering wheel to selectively connect a variable displacement pump for operating a hydraulic cylinder in each of two directions to steer the vehicle. The hydrostatic system is regenerative in steering of the hydraulic cylinder in one direction since both sides of the hydraulic cylinder are connected to the high pressure input line in steering in one direction. A pilot line is connected to the valve output to sense load pressure and feed back to the compensator of the variable displacement pump to vary the displacement in response to load demands of the hydrostatic system.

Hydrostatic load sensitive regenerative steering system

A draft control valve for use with two constant displacement pumps in an open center hydraulic system. The valve controls the implement position in response to the draft loads and manual control and normally employs pressurized fluid from a low volume pump for operating in response to draft load sensing for control the implement position and employs pressurized fluid from the high volume pump for relatively short periods of time for positioning of the implement in response by the operator and extreme draft loads.
