A system for fixating a bone includes a buckle having a plurality of lock bars and a hook. A cord may connect the hook with an opposite end of the buckle and around a bone. The buckle may include lock bars on the opposite end of the buckle to receive the cord and allow a frictional resistance to a loosening of the cord around the bone to facilitate a reduction of a fracture of the bone.

System and method for bone fixation

A fracture fixation system includes a plate having a laterally extending bore passing therethrough and configured to receive a first wire when the plate is placed in contact with a bone. The plate has a recess for receiving and securing a first end of a first wire, and includes an entry hole and an exit hole to at opposite ends of a first bore to allow the first wire to pass through the plate. A screw is configured to capture said the wire in the first bore to maintain a desired tension on the first wire.

Fracture fixation system and method

A bone coupling device is configured for joining a first bone piece to a second bone piece which includes a first component having an inner surface bounding a first cavity and a first stem portion for insertion into the first bone piece. A second component includes a second stem portion for insertion into the second bone piece and an axially extending connector extending from the second stem portion and configured to be inserted into the first cavity. The connector has an outer surface which is complementarily shaped relative to an inner surface to inhibit rotation relative to each other when the connector is received in the cavity to engage the first component and the second component.

Bone coupling device and method

An implant having a joint facing surface and a bone facing surface forming a body member and a dorsal member therebetween. The implant further having a ring member extending out from the bone facing surface to a free end disposed for insertion into a bone recess. The present invention provides, in one aspect, a bone fixation device, the bone fixation device having a shaft, the shaft including a drive end and a tip end, at least a portion of the shaft configured to anchor into bone. The shaft further includes a first non-resorbable section extending from the tip end of the shaft, a second non-resorbable section extending from the drive end of the shaft, and a resorbable section. The resorbable section includes a tip side and a drive side, the resorbable section is between the first non-resorbable section and the second non-resorbable section, with the tip side of the resorbable section coupling to the first non-resorbable section and the drive side coupling to the second non-resorbable section.

Bone fixation device and method

The present disclosure provides staples, and corresponding staple guides, for applying a compressive force between biological elements. The staples may include a bridge portion and a pair of tines extending from the bridge portion configured for implantation into biological elements. The tines may be spaced a first distance in a first state of the bridge portion. The bridge portion may be elastically deformable into a second state with the pair of tines spaced a second distance that is greater than the first distance and the tines pre-loaded to apply a compressive force therebetween. The guides may include a staple engagement portion operable to maintain the biased state of the staple, and/or a drill guide portion operable to facilitate the formation of apertures spaced the second distance in the biological elements.

Staples and staple delivery and drill guides

The present disclosure provides devices, systems and methods of bone fixation. The disclosed devices, systems and methods facilitate secure fixation of first and second bone segments, such as to promote fusion thereof. The devices may include at least one bone engagement projection extending from an engagement surface of a plate portion for implantation into the first bone segment. A portion of the plate portion spaced from the at least one bone engagement projection may include at least one bone fixation aperture. The least one bone fixation aperture may allow for a one bone engagement projection to be inserted therethrough and into the second bone segment to affix the plate portion to the second bone segment. In some embodiments, the at least one bone fixation aperture may be a compression slot.

Bone fixation devices and methods

An orthopedic instrument assembly for placing an implant into a medial cuneiform of a foot, the assembly includes a targeting guide having a body with an elongated linear base. A threaded rack is disposed along the elongated linear base. A compression-distraction frame pre-compresses the joint prior to placement of a joint fixation element. The compression-distraction frame is translatably connected to the rack of the guide body base. The compression-distraction frame is releasably, statically connectable to a first metatarsal bone and a post. The post has a generally cylindrical shape and a longitudinal axis, and has a plurality of threaded cylindrical bores disposed therethrough at predefined angles relative to the longitudinal axis. The post is releasably, statically connectable to the targeting guide.
