A pillow is formed from a ZIPLOC&reg; bag by either placing a collapsible regulator within the bag which holds the walls of the bag apart when the mouth of the bag is opened or by prestressing the bag in a way that bows the walls of the bag apart, whereby when the mouth of the bag is open, air introduced into the bag is trapped therein upon again closing the bag.

An 'EXIT' sign utilizes a flat fluorescent lamp for illuminating the word 'EXIT' through a stencil. The sign also includes a phosphorescent material which cooperates with the stencil to display the word 'EXIT' when power to the lamp is cut.

A lubricating oil filter-refiner for internal combustion engines includes an evaporation chamber with an array of relatively thin, corrugated plates for forming a plurality of running oil films from which volatile contaminants evaporate. In order to enhance its efficiency, the evaporation chamber is connected to a vacuum source such as the air intake of an engine.
