A breakaway camera mount assembly is configured to detach from a surfboard. The breakaway camera mount assembly has a base plug that includes a rectangular coupling, joined to the base plug cylindrical portion bottom portion and further joined into a rectangular slot on the surfboard. A base attachment is joined to the base plug and further comprising a base attachment cylindrical portion having a plurality of base attachment cylindrical portion openings, such that the plurality of pins extend through the plurality of openings joining the base attachment to the base plug. A post is, joined to the base attachment with the plurality of pins. A camera stick is joined to the post and includes a camera stick first portion that angles into a camera stick second portion. A camera attachment point is joined to the camera stick second portion and configured to accommodate a camera.

Camera mount for a surfboard

A self contained hot stick mounted radio transmitting module may be permanently mounted on or temporarily pushed against the power conductor of an electrical transmission line. The module is capable of measuring the potential difference between the conductor and ground. The module digitizes and transmits the value of the potential difference to a ground receiver. The module is donut shaped and opens like a pair of jaws. The contact with the power line is accomplished via a resilient conductive elastomer that covers the surfaces in contact with the power conductor. The potential difference between ground and the power conductor is measured with an operational amplifier in an integrating configuration to convert the leakage current from the module to ground into a proportional voltage from a low impedance source. The integrator outputs a voltage proportional to the current flowing into the equivalent capacitance formed by the outer surface of the module and ground. The current is generated by the voltage difference between the power conductor and ground. The power conductor is engaged by a pair of jaws inserts comprising two concentric conducting rings separated by a thin insulating layer forming a large capacitor. The electronic components within the unit are protected by a signal conditioning network to preclude destruction of components in the event of lightning strikes or other overvoltage conditions.

Line mounted apparatus for measuring line potential

An improved surgical instrument cartridge is described. The cartridge comprises a plurality of wound closure elements. Each element has a crown and two opposite side legs. The distal end of each leg of an element contacts the crown of the adjacent preceding element. Two opposite grooves (in the cartridge) contain at least each end of each crown and the proximal end of each leg. The cartridge is attached to a surgical instrument. To activate the plurality of closure elements, a spring acts only on the proximal element. The improvement comprises the distal ends of the legs of each element being in an essentially converging relationship. The plurality of elements are thus self-aligning in the grooves. The wound closure element can be a staple.

Hemodialysis ultrafiltration apparatus comprises a hemodialyzer, a supply line for supplying fresh dialysate to the hemodialyzer. A drain line is provided for removing spent dialysate from the hemodialyzer. The dialyzer is adapted to be connected to a patient so that the patient's blood may be supplied to and removed from the hemodialyzer. A weighing mechanism allows a fixed amount of fresh dialysate, by weight, to flow through the hemodialyzer. Spent dialysate emerging from the hemodialyzer is then weighed by the weighing device to determine the weight differential therebetween to monitor and control the amount and rate of ultrafiltrate removed from blood in the hemodialyzer. A method of hemodialytic ultrafiltration is carried out substantially in accordance with the above-described apparatus.

The instrument comprises a. a housing having a force activating and translating mechanism; b. a loading mechanism having an injector, the terminal end adjacent a single clip; c. an advancing mechanism having a pair of aligned members, the initial end of the members contained in the housing and the terminal end containing jaws; a clip actuator rotatably mounted adjacent the initial end of the jaws; a spring, a pusher at the terminal end of the spring, and a plurality of clips, the rearmost clip adjacent the pusher and the frontmost clip contained by the actuator; and d. a crimping mechanism having a crimp bar.

A microfiche card storage and retrieval system comprising a carousel for storing microfiche cards, card transport means for inserting and retracting microfiche cards from said carousel, said card transport device having an extended position in the plane of its movement, a card load-unload chute disposed above said carousel and defining a card-receiving chute in the plane of movement of said card transport device, the card-receiving chute comprising stop means across the chute to prevent a card from inadvertently being moved into the storage and retrieval system, means for retracting said stop means, means adjacent one edge of said chute for limiting the height of the chute to prevent oversized cards from being inserted through the chute into the storage and retrieval system, and means opposite the insert side of said chute for guiding a microfiche card moved by said transport means into said chute.

A microfiche card storage and retrieval system utilizes a card transport to remove or insert a card from a support tray. The card transport has two pairs of fingers spaced to grasp the edge of a card and are opened to grasp an edge of the card in the tray and as the card is withdrawn the pairs of fingers separate to tension the edge of the card between the pairs of fingers.

A portable opaque projector is characterized by a transportable mode and an operable mode. When in its transportable mode, the projector has the configuration of a compact hexahedron; when in its operable mode the top and sides of the projector are opened up, and a mirror is mounted to the top.

A measuring device for ascertaining the perimeter of a cross-section of a body comprising an integral tape and slide guide. Laterally extending tabs at one end of the tape are foldable over a portion of the tape bent back upon the tab bearing end to form the slide guide. An aperture in the tab bearing end cooperates with indicia on the tape to display the perimeter of the tape loop extending from the slide guide.

The invention disclosed concerns a method of selecting a standard glove size. The method includes the steps of selecting a pair of two dimensional measurements which are correlated to hand volume, dividing a population of hand volumes into a predetermined number of approximately equally populated subgroup ranges, plotting two dimensional chart areas for each subgroup based upon intersections of the selected two dimensional measurements with reference to a predetermined point on the chart, and assigning one of the standard sizes to each chart area. The method further includes the steps of placing a hand on the predetermined point and plotting the intersection of the pair of two dimensional measurements for the hand to select the proper standard glove size. The chart can include areas for both left and right hands and the predetermined point can abut the web space between the middle and index fingers on the hand.

Ground water containing ferrous compounds is first treated with aluminum sulfate before aeration followed by lime addition after aeration to produce an iron-aluminum sludge possessing an oxidative capacity. Portions of the sludge are recycled back to utilize the oxidative capacity of the sludge. Chlorine is added after the oxidative capacity of the sludge has been utilized. An improved oxidation and removal of iron is obtained, yielding a treated water low in iron content with decreased requirements for chlorine.

Use of specially prepared iron floc to oxidize and remove iron in water

A device for affecting deflection control of an elongated stringed musical instrument neck or shaft is provided to compensate for undesired neck deflections. The device includes a substantially rigid sleeve which is carried within and extends along the neck. At least one core element is removably positioned within the sleeve. A control element is adjustably secured to the sleeve and cooperates with the core element or elements to exert deflection control forces on the sleeve. The sleeve in turn, imparts such deflection control forces to the elongated neck or shaft in which it is carried.
