Disclosed is a drug infusion system comprising a drug infusion device having a reservoir, a window for viewing the contents of the reservoir, a cannula arranged to be deployed beneath the skin of a patient, and an actuator configured to be manually actuated to drive a medicament from the reservoir to the cannula. The system also has a cannula cover and a needle handle that holds a needle for insertion into the patient. The cannula cover and needle handle are detachably attached to the drug infusion device, and each is attachable to the other. The device further comprises a septum and a septum pincher to seal the device. The device also comprises a pumping mechanism, part of which are a last-dose lock-out mechanism and an occlusion detection mechanism, both of which operate on the same actuator.

Wearable infusion device and system

A reservoir for use in a wearable infusion device includes a substantially rigid base having a perimeter, a substantially rigid top having a perimeter, and a flexible rolling diaphragm between the base and the top. The diaphragm has an outer perimeter sealed along the perimeter of the base and an inner perimeter sealed along the perimeter of the top. The diaphragm is arranged to dispose the top and the base immediately adjacent each other when the reservoir is empty and to dispose the top and the base in spaced apart relation when the reservoir is full.

Detachable drug delivery device

Microcannulae are constructed with multiple components in a composite design, allowing the microcannulae to have varying mechanical and delivery properties that will enable ophthalmic treatments by minimally invasive means. The microcannula includes at least one flexible, tubular communicating element with an outer diameter of 350 microns or less, a proximal connector for introduction of materials, energy or tools. It may also include a reinforcing member attached to the communicating element, which may be designed to create variable stiffness along the length of the microcannula. The microcannula may also include other features such as a signal beacon near the distal tip.

Composite ophthalmic microcannula

A wearable liquid medicament delivery assembly comprises a band arranged to at least partially encircle and be secured to a body extremity of a wearer and a liquid medicament delivery device carried by the band. The device includes a reservoir arranged to hold the liquid medicament, a piercing member arranged to penetrate the skin of the wearer to deliver the liquid medicament, and a pump that pumps the liquid medicament from the reservoir to the piercing member to thereby cause the liquid medicament to be delivered to the wearer.

Wearable infusion assembly

A method is provided for increasing the outflow of fluid through Schlemm's canal that is useful for treatment of glaucoma. The implant is placed in Schlemm's canal by use of a flexible delivery instrument attached to the implant. The instrument and implant are positioned within the canal, the implant is released and the distal and proximal ends of the implant are connected to apply sufficient axial tensioning force on the inner wall of the canal to increase fluid permeability. In another embodiment a delivery instrument attached to the implant is positioned in the canal securing one of the distal or proximal ends of the implant within the canal. The implant provides sufficient axial tensioning force on the inner wall of the canal to increase fluid permeability of the inner wall of the canal. The other of the distal or proximal ends may be secured to maintain the tensioning force on the inner wall of the canal.

Ophthalmic implant for treatment of glaucoma

An injector is provided to deliver microquantities of viscous materials into the body, such as the eye, for surgical purposes. The injector comprises a syringe body with a plunger disposed therein coupled to a positive displacement mechanism capable of progressively advancing the plunger to precisely deliver microquantities of materials at a constant or predetermined delivery rate.

Injector for viscous materials

An apparatus for securing a watercraft to another vessel or platform with a rack assembly. The rack assembly is adapted to lift and carry a watercraft out of the water. The rack assembly has a pair of rails adapted to support the watercraft. The pair of rails pivot whereby the ends of the pair of rails moves from a submerged position suitable for driving the watercraft onto the pair of rails to a raised position with the ends of the pair of rails is above the water level.

Watercraft lift assembly

A therapeutic ultrasound delivery system, comprises: a catheter body, a plurality of axially spaced-apart hollow cylindrical vibrational transducers disposed along a length of the catheter body, a first spring connector wrapped around the outer surfaces of the vibrational transducers, where the first spring connector exerting an inward pre-stress on the outer surfaces of the vibrational transducers; and a second connector disposed in contact with the inner surfaces of the vibrational transducers. The second connector may comprise a spring coil, particularly a spring coil having multiple deflection points which contact an inner surface of the cylindrical vibrational transducer.

High output therapeutic ultrasound transducer

A method for inhibiting hyperplasia at an anastomotic junction of a vascular fistula or vascular graft comprises exposing the anastomotic junction to vibrational energy at a mechanical index and for a time sufficient to inhibit hyperplasia. Kits are described comprising the catheter or a probe suitable for performing the methods together with instructions for use setting forth the methods. The methods and kits are particularly suitable for treating anastomotic junctions formed to provide vascular access for hemodialysis, hemofiltration, and the like. The methods and kits are also suitable for treating other vascular grafts, such as those formed during cardiac bypass graft surgery, vascular repair, and the like.

Methods and kits for the inhibition of hyperplasia in vascular fistulas and grafts

A method for carotid endarterectomy. A blood filter is positioned within a carotid artery downstream of an atheromatous plaque. The filter is expanded. The carotid artery is clamped upstream and downstream of the atheromatous plaque while the filter is expanded. An endarterectomy procedure is performed on the region of the carotid artery having the atheromatous plaque. The carotid artery is unclamped while the filter is expanded. In certain cases a shunt is positioned in a region of the carotid artery having the atheromatous plaque and secured to the shunt by clamping, the shunt comprising a tubular member having a proximal opening, a distal opening, and a lumen therebetween.

Cerebral protection during carotid endarterectomy and downstream vascular protection during other surgeries

A wide beam ultrasound delivery system providing a uniform exposure field is used to enhance the uptake of injected substances and/or to enhance the transfection of DNA in the tissues of human subject, or reduce the amount of vascular intimal hyperplasia in human subjects following vascular injury.
