A perfume composition contains at least 50% by weight of materials which fall into five categories defined by structure, and molecular weight. Amounts of material within each category fall within specified ranges of percentage of the whole composition. Two categories, ethers and salicylates, must be present. At least two of the remaining three categories, which are alcohols, acetate/propionate esters and methyl aryl ketones, must also be present. The compositions enable good levels of deodorant activity to be achieved along with consumer-acceptable fragrance.

Perfume compositions

A fabric conditioning product which may be used during the rinsing or tumble drying of fabrics after washing, contains a perfume composition which contains specified ketones and salicylates. The perfumes inhibit development of human body malodour on the fabrics when worn and the combination of specified materials makes it possible to avoid inclusion of individual components with powerful, unacceptable odors.

Fabric conditioner with deodorant perfume composition

A hydrophobic porous inorganic carrier particle having at least a pore volume of 0.1 ml/g consisting of pores with a diameter of 7 to 50 .ANG. and having a perfume absorbed into said particle. The invention also comprises a detergent composition containing the carrier particle and a method of manufacturing the carrier particle.

Perfume particles

A device for conditioning fabrics in a laundry dryer comprises a fabric conditioning agent in powder form in a container having a plurality of apertures through which the powdered fabric conditioning agent can pass, the container being provided with at least one outwardly projecting region which is effective to prevent or reduce direct contact between the said apertures and the fabrics, the projecting region also enabling the device to be stacked together with a second identical device in such a manner that the second device will close the said apertures. The device may be of general frustoconical configuration, resembling a disposable drinking cup with a perforated false bottom. To prevent misuse of the device as a cup, the upper part of the side wall may advantageously be apertured.

Device for conditioning fabrics in the tumble-dryer

An aqueous concentrated fabric softening composition comprises an aqueous base, more than 10% of a water-soluble cationic softener and at least 3% of an alkoxylated amine having less than 7 alkylene oxide groups per molecule such as ethoxylated tallow amine. The total level of cationic and nonionic components is preferably less than 25%. The alkoxylated amine improves processing by lowering the initial viscosity of the product.

Aqueous concentrated fabric softening composition

An aqueous fabric softening composition containing less than 10% cationic softener also includes an alkoxylated fatty amine having up to 7 alkylene oxide groups per molecule, such as ethoxylated tallow amine at exemplified levels of 4.0 to 12.0%. The alkoxylated compound enhances the softening and anti-static properties of the composition.
