The present invention is directed to a coating composition comprising an alkyd resin; an acrylic polymer; a metallic drier; an adhesion promoter; and a solvent. Also disclosed are coatings formed from the coating composition. Also disclosed are methods of coating a substrate.

The aerosol dispenser is a container assembly, a valve assembly, and an outlet assembly. The contained material is texture material and propellant material. The texture material comprises water as a solvent/carrer, latex binder, fillers, and drier accelerant. The outlet assembly alters the cross-sectional of the outlet opening to correspond to a desired orange peel texture pattern. The valve assembly allows the propellant material to force at least a portion of the texture material out of the outlet opening in a spray pattern corresponding to the desired orange peel texture pattern. The drier accelerant promotes drying of the dispensed texture material.

Spray texture material compositions, systems, and methods with accelerated dry times

A system for dispensing texture material in a desired spray pattern that substantially matches an existing texture pattern on a target surface has a container assembly, an actuator assembly, and a concentrate comprising a solvent/carrier comprising water, wall texture material comprising at least one filler and a resin/binder, a first anti-corrosion material, where the first anti-corrosion material is a phosphate ester, and a second anti-corrosion material, where the second anti-corrosion material is sodium nitrite. At least one of the first and second anti-corrosion materials forms a film on the inner surface of the container assembly while the concentrate is stored within the container assembly. The film inhibits corrosion of the corrodible material forming at least part of the inner surface of the container assembly. The first and second anti-corrosion materials together comprise 0.125-7.00% by weight of the concentrate.

Spray texture material compositions, systems, and methods with anti-corrosion characteristics

An actuator for forming a texture layer on a target surface has a housing, a trigger, and an adapter. The housing supports the trigger for pivoting movement between first and second trigger positions. The housing supports the adapter member for sliding movement between first and second adapter positions. The trigger engages the adapter to displace the adapter from the first adapter position to the second adapter position as the trigger moves from the first trigger position to the second trigger position. The adapter engages a valve assembly such that the valve assembly is in closed and open configurations when the adapter is in the first and second adapter positions.

Acoustic ceiling popcorn texture materials, systems, and methods

A system for dispensing texture material in a desired spray pattern that substantially matches an existing texture pattern on a target surface has a container assembly, an actuator assembly, and a concentrate. The concentrate comprises a solvent/carrier comprising water, wall texture material, a first anti-corrosion material, where the first anti-corrosion material is a phosphate ester and comprises approximately 0.1-5.0% by weight of the concentrate, and a second anti-corrosion material, where the second anti-corrosion material is sodium nitrite and comprises approximately 0.25-2.00% by weight of the concentrate. The concentrate is disposed within the container assembly such that the water is exposed to the inner surface of the container assembly. At least one of the first and second anti-corrosion materials forms a film that inhibits corrosion on tin-plated steel forming at least part of the inner surface of the container assembly.

A system for dispensing texture material in an orange peel pattern has an aerosol dispenser and a contained material. The aerosol dispenser is a container assembly, a valve assembly, and an outlet assembly. The contained material is texture material and propellant material. The texture material is approximately 24-34% water, 4.1-6.1% latex binder, 48-58% fillers, and 4.8-8.8% drier accelerant by weight. The contained material comprises approximately 10-15% by weight of the propellant material. The outlet assembly alters the cross-sectional of the outlet opening to correspond to a desired orange peel texture pattern. The valve assembly allows the propellant material to force at least a portion of the texture material out of the outlet opening in a spray pattern corresponding to the desired orange peel texture pattern. The drier accelerant promotes drying of the dispensed texture material.

An aerosol dispenser for dispensing stored material in a spray comprises a container, a conduit, and first and second adjustment systems. The container defines a chamber containing the stored material and pressurized material. The conduit defines a conduit passageway having a conduit inlet and a conduit outlet. The conduit inlet is arranged within the chamber and the conduit outlet is arranged outside of the chamber. The first adjustment system is arranged to vary a flow of stored material along the conduit passageway and is arranged between the conduit inlet and the conduit outlet. The second adjustment system arranged to vary a flow of stored material along the conduit passageway and is arranged between the first adjustment system and the conduit outlet.

Systems and methods for dispensing texture material using dual flow adjustment

The present invention may be embodied as a texturing system for applying a desired texture pattern on a surface comprising texture material comprising a pH adjusting material and at least one pH change material and a dispensing system comprising a container assembly and a propellant material. The propellant material pressurizes the texture material within the container assembly. The dispensing system allows texture material to flow out of the container assembly and onto the surface such that a visible physical structure of the texture material corresponds to a desired texture pattern. When the texture material is applied to the surface, the texture material defines a first pH level associated with a first appearance. When dry, the texture material defines a second pH level such that the pH change material defines a second appearance. The second appearance is perceptibly different from the first appearance. The desired texture pattern is unchanged.

Texture material for covering a repaired portion of a textured surface

A texturing system for applying a desired texture pattern on a patched portion of a surface. The texturing system comprises texture material, a dispensing system for dispensing the texture material, and a selecting system. The texture material comprises a carrier, a binder, a filler, and a change material. The texture material changes from a wet form to a solidified form when exposed to air. The change material changes appearance when the texture material changes from the wet form to the solidified form. The selecting system is supported by the dispensing system such that texture material dispensed from the dispensing system is dispensed through an outlet opening in the desired texture pattern. The dispensing system is used to deposit the texture material onto the patched portion of the surface in the desired texture pattern.

Aerosol system for repairing a patched portion of a surface

An aerosol dispensing system for dispensing stored material in a spray comprises a container, a conduit, a valve system, a first adjustment system, and a second adjustment system. The container defines a chamber containing the stored material and pressurized material. The conduit defines a conduit passageway having a conduit inlet and a conduit outlet. The conduit inlet is arranged within the chamber, and the conduit outlet is arranged outside of the chamber. The valve system is arranged to allow and prevent flow of stored material along the conduit passageway. The first adjustment system is arranged to control flow of stored material along the conduit passageway. The first adjustment system is arranged between the conduit inlet and the conduit outlet. The second adjustment system is arranged to control flow of stored material along the conduit passageway. The second adjustment system is arranged between the first adjustment system and the conduit outlet.

A system for coating a target surface employs a bottle for containing the texture material and a spray pump assembly. A resilient member is supported by a pump housing to define an outlet opening. A collar member is supported by the pump housing. The resilient member is normally in an undeformed configuration in which the outlet opening defines a first cross-sectional area. Moving the collar member relative to the pump housing causes the collar member to act on the resilient member to deform the resilient member from the undeformed configuration to a deformed configuration in which the outlet opening defines a second cross-sectional area, where the second cross-sectional area is greater than the first cross-sectional area.

A method of covering an anomaly in a wall substantially to match a pre-existing texture pattern surrounding the anomaly comprises the following steps. A valve is supported on a container assembly to define a main chamber. Contained material comprising wall material concentrate and propellant material is disposed within a main chamber defined by a valve and a container assembly. An actuator relative is arranged relative to the container assembly such that displacement of a button changes the valve from a closed configuration to an open configuration. A first portion of the contained material is applied to the anomaly. A second portion of the contained material is applied to the base coat. The second portion of the contained material forms a desired texture pattern on the base coat that substantially matches the pre-existing texture pattern.

Aerosol dispensing systems and methods and compositions for repairing interior structure surfaces

A system for dispensing texture material in a desired spray pattern that substantially matches an existing texture pattern on a target surface comprises an aerosol dispenser, concentrate, and propellant material. The aerosol dispenser has an inner surface comprised at least in part of tin-plated steel. The concentrate comprises a solvent/carrier comprising water, a resin/binder, filler material, a first anti-corrosion material, and a second anti-corrosion material.

A coating material adapted to be applied to a target surface comprises a texture material base and pigment material. The texture material base comprises solvent/carrier material comprising water, resin/binder material comprising a latex binder, and filler material comprising a polymeric thickener. The texture material base and the pigment material are combined and deposited on the target surface to form a durable, irregular, colored surface.
