A closure fastener comprising a hasp assembly pivotally connected to a staple assembly. The hasp assembly includes a latch arm having an aperture adjacent its free end. The staple assembly includes a staple having an aperture disposed transversely therethrough providing a passage for a shackle of a lock, the staple being received by and extending through the latch arm aperture when the latch arm is in a closed position. A base member is integrally connected to the staple and has an aperture therethrough for receiving a switch engagement member of a disconnect switch. A stud is integrally connected to the base member, the stud having an aperture disposed transversely therethrough. A pivot pin in disposed through the stud aperture and through a pivot pin receiving aperture of the latch arm, thereby pivotally connecting the hasp assembly to the staple assembly.

Hasp type latch

A door hold-open latch and dual release mechanism includes a first latch for maintaining the door in its closed position and a second latch for maintaining the door in its open position. A first latch release is mounted on the door in a position accessible to an operator located in the cab for releasing the first latch. A second latch release is mounted on the door in a position accessible to an operator located in the cab for releasing the second latch. A third latch release is mounted on the door in a position accessible to an operator located on the ground for also releasing the second latch. The operator can actuate the second latch from either the cab using the second latch release or from ground level using the third latch release. Alternately, the third latch release can also release the first latch, and the operator can actuate the first latch using the third latch release.

Door hold-open latch release and method

Sliding windows are used in machine cabs to allow exchange of air between the atmosphere and the interior of the cab. When a panel is moveable a seal must be provided to prevent the ingress of water into the cab. The subject window assembly includes a sliding panel having four radiused corners and also a seal which is positioned in a side portion of the sliding panel to prevent the ingress of water. The seal is continuous around the corners and extends therefrom to contact a stationary panel. This arrangement of components provides a sliding window which provides a seal which prevent ingress of water into the cab.

Door lock and lock assemblies are useful, for example, in vehicle cabs. Latch and lock assemblies of known structures which can be unlocked from inside the cab while remaining locked from outside the cab require complex and bulky linkage assemblies. The subject door latch and lock assembly includes pivotal outer and inner actuator. The pivotal movement of the outer actuator simultaneously pivots the inner actuator to open a catch mechanism. Pivot movement of the inner actuator can be independent of the outer actuator. A locking lever can be pivoted to a locked position to prevent pivotal movement of the outer actuator. Pivotal movement of the inner actuator is not prevented by the locking lever. Thus, the disclosed door latch and lock assembly can be opened from inside the cab while remaining locked from outside the cab without requiring complex and bulky linkage assemblies.

Door latch and lock assembly

A latch mechanism is provided wherein the pawl has a concave recess which provides a vertical clearance between the pawl and the striker to allow limited vertical movement of the door. The vertical clearance reduces contact between the pawl and the striker to reduce wear.
