A filter element for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a filter media pack and a first support element. The filter media pack includes a pleated filter media. The first support element includes a connecting member that is coupled to the pleated filter media and includes at least a portion of a curved wall that curves above a central axis that extends substantially parallel to an insertion direction of the filter element into a filter housing. The first interface member is located at a distal end of the connecting member and defines a first support ledge that is disposed over the connecting member and that extends substantially parallel to the insertion direction.

A filter element for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a filter media and a support element. The support element includes a first interface member, a second interface member, and a connecting member. The first interface member and the second interface member define opposing lateral ends of the support element and extend parallel to one another. The first interface member and the second interface member are engageable with complementary receiving structures of a rail to support the support element on the rail. The connecting member is coupled to the filter media and extends from the first interface member to the second interface member. The connecting member includes a concave portion extending from the first interface member and a convex portion extending from the second interface member.

A collapsible air cleaner filter is provided. The filter includes a pleated media filter having a first end, a second end, and a filter media extending between the first and second ends, wherein the filter media includes a first plurality of flexible end portions and a second plurality of flexible end portions, the first and second plurality of flexible end portions are separated by a plurality of pleats, and the filter media extends a first length between the first and second plurality of flexible end portions, and an end member coupled to the first end of the pleated media filter, the end member extending a second length parallel to the first length, the first length being greater than the second length.

An air cleaner comprises an enclosing structure having support members spaced a distance from top and bottom walls. A collapsible extended surface pleated media filter has end members and a pleated mechanical media filter. The end members have an outer surface and a thickness that is based on the distance that the support surfaces are spaced from the top and bottom walls to provide an effective seal against air flowing around the collapsible filter. The end members can have a seal structure provided on the outer surface that interacts with the top or bottom wall. The collapsible filter optionally includes flexible support member(s) on or in the pleated mechanical media filter that assist in keeping the pleats open. The pleated mechanical media filter can extend beyond the end member(s) and interact with portions of the frame to provide an effective seal against air flowing around the collapsible filter.

A window shade assembly comprising a header, a bottom rail and expansible and contractable shade means attached to the header and bottom rail, and lift cords attached to the bottom rail and extending upwardly to the header and through a cord lock on the header and having lift cord operating portions extending downwardly from the cord lock means for raising and lowering the bottom rail, the lower ends of the operating portions of the lift cords are detachably mounted on the bottom rail to be raised and lowered with the bottom rail to reduce cord dangle and the detachable mounting is arranged to allow the lower end of the operating portion of each lift cord to detach from the bottom rail and separate from the operating portions of the other lift cords when the lower end of the lift cord is subjected to a tensile force in a direction away from the bottom rail, for child safety reasons.

A venetian type window blind having a wand which is rotatable to control tilting of slats and lift cord operating mechanism on the wand for raising and lowering the blind and locking the blind in adjusted positions. The venetian blind lift cords extend into a lengthwise cord passage inside the wand and the lift cord operating mechanism includes a lift member mounted for movement along an outer side of the wand and lift cord, an engaging member in the cord passage for moving the lift cords to raise and lower the blind in response to movement of the lift member along the wand. The operating means includes lock means for locking the lift cord engaging member at selected positions along the wand.

A window blind of the type having a headrail, bottom rail and an expandable and contractable shade between the headrail and bottom rail. An elongated wand has an upper end mounted on the headrail and a flexible operating cord is formed into an endless cord operating loop and guided by loop guides in a closed loop path extending through the headrail and the wand passage. Lift cords are attached to the bottom rail and extend from the bottom rail into the headrail and the lift cords are connected to the endless operating loop. A cord lift handle member is mounted for movement along an outer side of the wand and has cord grip mechanism for gripping a portion of the endless cord operating loop to move the operating loop in a direction to raise the bottom rail when the handle member is moved in one direction along the wand. A cord lock is provided for releasably retaining the bottom rail in selected raised positions.
