A ladder tie off system incorporates a safety strap into a ladder for securing the ladder to prevent undesired tipping. The system includes a ladder having a pair of lateral side members and a plurality of rungs extending between the lateral side members. A extendable tether includes a tensioning mechanism, a fixed section, and an extendable section. A mount is coupled to the tensioning mechanism of the extendable tether. The mount is coupled to the ladder proximate a top end of the ladder wherein the extendable tether is configured for is secured to a static object near the top of the ladder whereby the ladder is inhibited from tipping during use.

Ladder tie off system

These systems allow transporting a bicycle on a vehicle. The bicycle may have two wheels, a front wheel and a rear wheel, each wheel having spokes or other passage between the wheel's tire and the wheel's axle, and a hinge to allow steering between the front wheel and the rear wheel. The system includes a front and rear wheel-suspender to suspend the front and rear wheel by passing through the spokes to allow the front wheel to hang on the front wheel-suspender. The system includes a support to support the front wheel-suspender and the rear wheel-suspender separated by a span sufficient to allow suspension of the bicycle while the front wheel and rear wheel remain operably attached to the bicycle. The system includes a mount to mount the support to the vehicle. Also disclosed is a system for hitching together frames to expand the number of bicycles that may be transported by the system.

Bicycle transporting systems

A support brace that permits the user to fire a rifle with one hand has a C-shaped rifle butt attachment that removably secures to a rifle butt by friction, and a forearm brace member, attached with or without a hinge. Left handed or right handed shooters can use the brace.

Rifle forearm assist brace

Apparatus for protecting an occupant of a building from flying debris from a frangible structure such as a window or the like, in the event of an explosion or other blast. The apparatus comprises a protective louver system disposed adjacent the building structure. The louver system comprises a plurality of louvers that are movable from an open position to a closed position wherein they form a protective barrier covering the building structure. A louver closing device is operatively connected to the louvers and is operable to move them to the closed position in the event of an explosion or other blast. The louvers are provided with locking portions so that they are interlocked when in the closed position and displaced inwardly by an explosion or other blast. Reinforcing cables may be positioned adjacent the inner surface of the louver system to support the louvers in the closed position when they are displaced inwardly by the explosion or other blast.

Window protection apparatus

An apparatus and method for protecting an occupant of a building from flying debris from a frangible structure of the building, such as a window or the like, in the event of an explosion or other blast. A protective barrier is positioned adjacent the building structure and is constructed to be deployed by inflation of at least a portion thereof. The protective barrier is movable from a stored position adjacent the building structure to a deployed position in which it covers the building structure. A gas generating device is connected to the protective barrier and is operable to generate gas to inflate the protective barrier and move it to the deployed position in response to the sensing of an explosion or other blast by a sensing device located remote from the building.

Apparatus and method for processing palletized containers

A barrier for containing an explosion in a room or the like. The barrier is a structural panel comprising a base sheet, a plurality of truncated polyhedral elements secured to and projecting from the base sheet, and a face sheet covering and secured to the truncated apexes of the polyhedral elements. The face sheet is constructed to separate from the polyhedral elements to expose them in the event of an explosion. Each polyhedral element is constructed to collapse in the event of an explosion, is filled with a liquid, and has an opening therein that is closed by a closure device that is openable or removable in response to the collapse of the polyhedral element caused by an explosion. The openings in the polyhedral elements are of a size to effect a misting action of the liquid therein when it is ejected from the openings by the collapse of the polyhedral elements caused by the explosion. The liquid mist serves to absorb and dissipate the heat and energy of the explosion.

Explosion barrier

An animal bedding product is made from waste cardboard and wood pallets by shredding selected amounts of cardboard and wood pallets to provide a blended mixture of wood chips and cardboard pieces ranging in size from approximately 3/16 or 1/2 inch to about 11/2 inches in length.

A new and improved combination bumper and spare tire carrier is disclosed adapted to be affixed to a tailgate of a vehicle without inhibiting the operation of the tailgate. The subject carrier includes a bracket member which projects rearwardly from the vehicle. A generally planar frame is pivotally connected to the bracket member at a point offset from the hinge of the tailgate. A planar attachment plate is provided, having one end thereof slidably received within channels formed in a pair of spaced apart guide members attached to the frame. The upper end of the attachment plate is connected to the upper edge of the tailgate to define a telescoping configuration. By this arrangement, the tailgate and the frame may be simultaneously moved between the open and closed positions. In the preferred embodiment, a pair of bumper segments are provided and disposed on either side of the frame. The bumper segments and spare tire combination define a relatively continuous bumper configuration. A tow package can also be provided with the carrier.
