A system and method for receiving signals using a receiver with antenna switching capability is provided. The receiver is configured to poll each antenna of the plurality of antennas and process the signals from each antenna. In addition, the receiver coordinates providing power to each antenna with the polling.

A method of programming a tire pressure monitoring device includes the step of forming a physical interface between a tire pressure monitoring device and a programming device. The programming device includes a first memory including a plurality of selectable programs that provide instructions defining a communication protocol for communication between a tire pressure monitoring device and a receiver. The method further includes the step of selecting through a user interface of the programming device a desired one of the plurality of selectable programs and loading the selected one of the plurality of selectable programs from the first memory device of the programming device to a second memory device disposed within the tire pressure monitoring device.

A programming system for a tire pressure monitoring device includes a programming device capable of communicating which of a plurality of communication protocols is to be utilized by the transmitter/receiver of a tire pressure monitoring device. Universal tire pressure monitoring sensor

A tire pressure monitoring system includes a receiver for processing signals and alerting an operator of the vehicle should conditions within any of the tires fall outside a desired range. The transmitters within the tires emit shorter transmission signals during operation by eliminating transmission of the identification code. The receiver stores the identifier for each transmitter for comparison to subsequent transmissions. Subsequent transmissions do not include the identifier. The receiver combines the saved identifier with the value provided in the check portion of the incoming transmission. If the combination of the saved identifier with the value provided in the check portion meets a defined criteria, than the signal is recognized as originating from one of the transmitters.

A method of monitoring a battery energy management system includes discharging a detector circuit to a minimum battery voltage, measuring an elapsed time that the minimum battery voltage is detected, resetting a timer circuit, and sampling the minimum battery voltage and the elapsed time of the minimum battery voltage in response to a predefined prompt. The discharge of the detector circuit, the measurement of the minimum battery voltage, the elapsed time of the minimum battery voltage, and the reset of the timer circuit are performed in response to an input voltage being less than the voltage stored within the detector circuit.

A keyless ignition system for a vehicle includes an electronic control unit (ECU) that communicates through a wireless link with a start/stop button. The start/stop button includes a plurality of lighting sources to selectively illuminate the start/stop button for communicating current state of a vehicle operating parameter. The lighting sources are powered by a wireless power generating device within the start/stop button.

A real time clock assembly includes paired crystal oscillators that experience changes in frequency responsive to temperature. The differences in frequency changes between the paired crystal oscillators are utilized to determine a temperature utilized to compensate for those shifts in frequency. The predictability of frequency responsive to temperature variations by the paired crystal oscillators is utilized for the determination of temperature.

Real time clock

A method for reducing average current consumption in an RF system adjusts RF stabilization time by measuring the temperature of the operating environment. The RF system includes a RF receiver that has a predetermined base RF receiver stabilization time. A temperature sensor takes at least one temperature measurement of the environment in which the RF receiver operates. The base RF receiver stabilization time is then adjusted based on the temperature measurement.
