In some embodiments, electrochemical actuators include a sealed electrolytic chamber with two or more electrodes disposed therein and associated reservoirs. In some embodiments, the electrochemical actuators include one or more rigid structures that are overmolded onto one or more electrodes to form the electrolytic chambers. In some embodiments, multiple rigid structures that are overmolded onto two separate electrodes may be connected to form one or more electrolytic chambers with a desired configuration of electrodes contained therein. In some embodiments, manufacturing methods and structures relate to the formation of an array of electrochemical actuators.

Electrochemical actuators and actuator arrays

Systems and methods for automatically delivering medication to a user. A sensor coupled to a user can collect information regarding the user. A controller can use the collected information to determine an amount of medication to provide the user. The controller can instruct a drug delivery device to dispense the medication to the user. The drug delivery device can be a wearable insulin pump that is directly coupled to the user. The controller can be part of or implemented in a cellphone. A user can be required to provide a confirmation input to allow a determined amount of insulin to be provided to the user based on detected glucose levels of the user. The sensor, controller, and drug delivery device can communicate wirelessly.

Wearable automated medication delivery system

Systems and methods for automatically delivering medication to a user. An automated drug delivery system may include a sensor and a wearable automated drug delivery device. The wearable automated drug delivery device may be configured to couple to the skin of a user and may include a controller and a pump. The pump may be configured to output the medication. The controller may be within the wearable automated drug delivery device. The sensor may be coupled to the user and may be configured to collect information regarding the user. The controller of the wearable automated drug delivery device may use the collected information to locally determine an amount of medication to be output from the wearable automated drug delivery device and cause delivery of the amount of medication.

A medical device to test bodily fluid, the device comprising a light emitting source, the light emitting source arranged to emit light inside the medical device; a test strip port, the test strip port comprising a test strip port receptacle to receive a test strip; and the light emitting source and the test strip port arranged such that, when the light emitting source emits light, at least a portion of the light emitted from the light emitting source is redirected inside the medical device to provide redirected light inside the medical device, and at least a portion of the redirected light lights the test strip port from inside the medical device in a manner than the redirected light is visible outside the test strip port.

A device for delivering fluid to a patient including an exit port assembly, a reservoir including a side wall extending towards an outlet connected to the exit port assembly, a threaded lead screw received at least partly in the reservoir and longitudinally extending towards the outlet, and a plunger secured to the lead screw and having an outer periphery linearly slideable along the side wall of the reservoir. A tube is coaxially received on the lead screw and includes a longitudinal slot, a pin extending through the lead screw and the slot of the tube, and a gear is secured to the tube for rotation therewith.

A transcutaneous access tool includes a first cannula moveable along an axis, a fixed member including an elongated prong extending parallel with the axis, and a deployment member secured to the first cannula and movable along the axis away from the fixed member. The deployment member includes spaced-apart, resiliently flexible fingers extending parallel with the axis and having distal ends that are laterally enlarged with respect to the axis. The resiliently flexible fingers are received on the prong of the fixed member. A second cannula is disposed within the lumen of the first cannula, and retraction member is secured to the second cannula and is movable along the axis. The retraction member includes at least one catch catching on the laterally enlarged distal ends of the fingers of the deployment element when the fingers are laterally held apart by the prong of the fixed member.

An embodiment of a utensil receptacle is disclosed including a peripheral wall structure having an upper end defining a top opening, a lower end and a substantially oval cross-section, an outer base member being releasably engageable to the lower end, a caddy configured to releasably engage the outer base member and including a bottom wall having holes, and a drainage tray for collecting fluids flowing through the holes.

An interconnected lock assembly with a locking mechanism which can throw the deadbolt and lock the door in response to a remote control signal. The interconnected lock comprising a first lock assembly including an inside handle and an outside handle, and a second lock assembly interconnected to said first lock assembly. The second lock assembly comprises a deadbolt assembly operably connected to a deadbolt latch. The deadbolt latch comprises a deadbolt movable between an extended position and a retracted position. The interconnected lock further comprises a locking mechanism selectively engageable by a remote control signal to move the deadbolt to an extended position.

A sensor for an interconnected lock assembly which can sense whether the door is in a locked or unlocked state. The interconnected lock assembly comprises a first lock assembly and a second lock assembly, both operably interconnected by a rack mounted on a carrier component. The second lock assembly is operably connected to a deadbolt latch assembly which comprises a deadbolt movable between an extended position when the carrier component is in a lowered position and a retracted position when the carrier component is in a raised position. The sensor is positioned within the interconnected lock assembly to detect when the carrier component is in a lowered position or in a raised position. The information is relayed to an electronic control module.

A correction fluid dispenser comprises a body member adapted to contain a correction fluid and a tip disposed at the forward end thereof for delivery of the fluid to a surface. The tip terminates in an orifice formed by a circular rim with a spherical ball of greater diameter than that of the rim contained in the tip. A cylindrical valve member is disposed having a forwardly facing surface contacting the ball and a plurality of axial cavities formed therein adjacent the tip inner wall for directing fluid along that wall to the spherical ball surface.
