A retrofit kit is configured for a single or multiple tubular fluorescent lamp fixture. The original fixture being retrofitted may or may not have any reflectors. The kit includes a new improved reflector with double concave wings. The winged reflector preferably has a central arched, preferably trapezoidal portion which forms the lower cover of the fixture box. This central trapezoidal portion includes an access door to permit access to the ballast without the need to remove the winged reflector once it is installed. An arched, preferably trapezoidal socket bar is installed at each end of the fixture, to lower the position of the lamp with respect to the winged reflector surfaces, to enhance the light distribution in a downward direction while permitting enhanced up-lighting. The distal ends of the trapezoidal central portion of the reflector mate with the trapezoidal socket bars at opposite ends of the fixture.

Fluorescent light fixture retrofit kit

A hatch is provided for a fluorescent lighting fixture having a continuous reflector covering the central section. The hatch is covered by a cover of compatible contour cut through the reflector underneath the location of the ballast in the housing above the reflector. The hatch cover is finished in the same surface as that of the reflector to minimize any disruption to the intended reflective pattern and to blend visually with the reflector. Two or more preferably quick-connect fasteners attach the hatch cover to the reflector. To gain access to the ballast, the lens or diffuser is removed and then the fluorescent lamp tubes which would interfere with the hatch cover are removed. The hatch cover is then removed to gain unobstructed access to the ballast from the underside of the fixture.

A fluorescent light fixture is suspended by a longitudinally extending trapezoidal pendant bracket/stabilizer. The trapezoidal pendant bracket/stabilizer includes a horizontally extending top brace and a pair of obliquely extending arms extending downward in opposite directions from the top brace in a trapezoidal crossection. Each obliquely extending arm has a flat, horizontally and outwardly extending attachment foot extending longitudinally along a flat top surface of the fluorescent lamp fixture, wherein each attachment foot is attached to the flat top surface of the fluorescent lamp fixture. The horizontally extending top brace is attachable to a ceiling mounted fastener, such as a toggle hanger or other downwardly extending fastener.

Self leveling bracket/stabilizer for fluorescent lighting fixtures with controlled uplight capability

A fluorescent light fixture with light transmissive windows aimed to provide controlled illumination above the mounted lighting fixture includes a housing having an elongated horizontal top surface with side edges and edges at opposite ends of the top surface. Oblique walls extend from the side edges of the top surface, and flare downwardly and outwardly from the side edges. First and second end walls extend downwardly from opposite ends of the top surface, the oblique walls and end walls joining to form a downwardly facing opening in the housing. Fluorescent light bulbs are mounted parallel to each other in the housing, so that light from selected light bulbs is reflected generally downwardly. The oblique walls include a plurality of spaced windows configured to direct a controlled portion of light from one or more light bulbs in a generally upward direction to provide indirect lighting.

A fluorescent light fixture includes a housing having an elongated horizontal top surface with side edges and edges at opposite ends of the top surface. Oblique walls extend from the side edges of the top surface, and flare downwardly and outwardly from the side edges. The end walls extend downwardly from the top surface, the oblique and end walls joining to form a downwardly facing opening in the housing. A plurality of generally downwardly facing reflectors within the housing extend the length thereof. Fluorescent light bulbs are mounted parallel to each other in the housing beneath the reflectors, so that light from the light bulbs reaching the reflectors is reflected generally downwardly. The oblique walls and an end reflector are configured to direct a portion of light from one or more light bulbs under each end reflector in a generally upwardly direction to provide indirect lighting.
