Circuitry for processing an analyte signal obtained from an electrochemical cell, the circuitry comprising: measurement circuitry having a first measurement input coupled to a first electrode of the electrochemical cell, the measurement circuitry configured to convert the analyte signal at the first measurement input to a first analog output signal; an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) having an first ADC input for receiving the first analog output signal, the ADC configured to convert the first analog output signal to a first digital output signal at an ADC output; compensation circuitry configured in a measurement mode to: apply a first compensation to the first digital output signal to obtain a first compensated digital output signal, the first compensation to compensate for non-linearity in the ADC; and apply a second compensation to the first compensated digital output signal to obtain a second compensated digital output signal, the second compensation to compensate for non-linearity in the measurement circuitry; control circuitry configured in a calibration mode to: apply a first calibration signal at the first ADC input and adapt the first compensation based on the first calibration signal and the first compensated digital output signal; and apply a second calibration signal at the first electrode and adapt the second compensation based on the second calibration signal and the second compensated digital output signal.

Circuitry for measurement of electrochemical cells

The present disclosure relates to circuitry for performing a multiply-accumulate (MAC) operation. The circuitry comprises a first multiplexer having a plurality of inputs for receiving a plurality of unary-coded input signals representing operands of the MAC operation and an output for outputting a multiplexer output signal representing a result of the MAC operation and a first vector quantizer configured to receive a plurality of weighting signals, each representing a proportion of a computation time period for which a respective one of the unary-coded input signals should be selected by the multiplexer and to output a first selector signal to the multiplexer to cause the multiplexer to select each of the input signals in accordance with the plurality of weighting signals.

Circuitry for performing a multiply-accumulate operation

Circuitry for determining one or more characteristics of an electrochemical cell comprising a first working electrode, a second working electrode and a counter electrode, the circuitry comprising: drive circuitry configured to: apply a first stimulus to the first working electrode; apply a compensation stimulus to one or more of the first working electrode, the second working electrode and the counter electrode; measurement circuitry configured to: measure a first signal at the first working electrode; and measure a second signal at the second working electrode; and processing circuitry configured to: determine the one or more characteristics of the electrochemical cell based on the first signal or the second signal, wherein the compensation stimulus is applied to compensate for cross talk between the first working electrode and the second working electrode.

The present disclosure relates to switching drivers for driving a transducer. A switching driver () has supply nodes for receiving supply voltages (VSH, VSL) defining at least one input voltage and an output node (). A controller () controls operation of the first switching driver to generate a drive signal for the transducer at the output node (), based on an input signal (Sin). A first capacitor () is connected between first and second capacitor nodes () and a second capacitor () is connected between the second capacitor node () and a third capacitor node (). A network of switches () selectively connects any of the driver output node, the second capacitor node and the third capacitor node to either of a respective pair of said supply nodes, with the first capacitor node connected to the first driver output node.

Driver circuitry

A method of detecting singing of a user of a personal audio device, the method comprising: receiving a first audio signal comprising bone-conducted speech of the user from a first transducer of the personal audio device; monitoring a second audio signal output to a speaker of the personal audio device; and determining whether the user is singing based on the first audio signal and the second audio signal.

Electrochemical cell characterisation

A sensor on an earpiece is used to attempt to detect a signal corresponding to a heartbeat. If a heartbeat is detected, it can be determined that the earpiece is being worn by a user. The sensor may be an acoustic transducer on a surface of the earpiece that is located within the wearer's ear canal, while the earpiece is being worn normally.

The present disclosure relates to circuitry for driving a piezoelectric transducer. The circuitry may be implemented as an integrated circuit and comprises driver circuitry configured to supply a drive signal to cause the transducer to generate an output signal and active inductor circuitry configured to be coupled with the piezoelectric transducer. The active inductor circuitry may be tuneable to adjust a frequency characteristic of the output signal.

A method of analysis of an audio signal comprises: receiving an audio signal representing speech; extracting first and second components of the audio signal representing first and second acoustic classes of the speech respectively; analyzing the first and second components of the audio signal with models of the first and second acoustic classes of the speech of an enrolled user. Based on the analyzing, information is obtained information about at least one of a channel and noise affecting the audio signal.

The present disclosure relates to an artificial neural network (ANN) computing system comprising: a buffer configured to store data indicative of input data received from an input device; an inference engine operative to process data from the buffer to generate an interest metric for the input data; and a controller. A detected sound signal may comprise speech or non-verbal sounds, and many non-verbal sounds contain health information. If the speech, or a non-verbal sound containing health information, was produced by an enrolled user, data relating to the sound can be stored in a storage element. A system also comprises a data modification block, for obfuscating received data to provide an obfuscated version of the stored data. The system then has a first access mechanism, for controlling access to the stored data such that only an authorised user can obtain access to said stored data, and a second access mechanism, for controlling access to said stored data such that the second access mechanism only provides access to the obfuscated version of the stored data.

A method of detecting a replay attack comprises: receiving an audio signal representing speech; identifying speech content present in at least a portion of the audio signal; obtaining information about a frequency spectrum of each portion of the audio signal for which speech content is identified; and, for each portion of the audio signal for which speech content is identified: retrieving information about an expected frequency spectrum of the audio signal; comparing the frequency spectrum of portions of the audio signal for which speech content is identified with the respective expected frequency spectrum; and determining that the audio signal may result from a replay attack if a measure of a difference between the frequency spectrum of the portions of the audio signal for which speech content is identified and the respective expected frequency spectrum exceeds a threshold level.

Apparatus for delivering power from a battery node of a battery to an output node, the output node coupled to an analyte monitoring device, the apparatus comprising: a slow charging path between the battery node and the output node; a fast charging path parallel to the slow charging path, the fast charging path switchably coupled between the battery node and the output node; and control circuitry configured to: selectively couple the fast charging path between the battery node and the output node to allow faster transfer of charge between the battery node and the output node than the slow charging path.
