A battery module array for use in a battery-powered system may include a plurality of battery modules and a battery management unit configured to control operation of the plurality of battery modules, and further configured to, in response to a critical condition occurring with respect to an affected battery module of the plurality of battery modules: establish a discharge firewall comprising the affected battery module and one or more additional battery modules of the plurality of battery modules proximate to the affected battery module and prioritize discharging of the affected battery module and one or more additional battery modules over discharging of those of the plurality of battery modules outside of the discharge firewall.

According to one embodiment of the present invention, the illustrative embodiments provide a computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer program product for configuring devices. Device information for a plurality of devices is retrieved from an object data manager. A determination is made as to whether a keyboard-video-mouse environment exists. If a keyboard-video-mouse environment does not exist, each device in a plurality of devices is configured to either an available state or a defined state. If a keyboard-video-mouse environment exists, each device in the plurality of devices is configured to the available state. A list of all enumerated devices is requested and a determination is made as to whether a particular device is in the list of enumerated devices. If the particular device is not in the list of enumerated devices, a pseudo device is added to the list to form a modified list of all enumerated devices.

The system allows for the controlled distribution of video and/or audio broadcasts over a LAN to selected and approved client computers. The video broadcasts are received by at least one server on the LAN. A configuration file is created with identifying information from the various video feeds. The systems administrator can create a list of which client computers can have access to certain video feeds. When a client computer requests a video feed, a menu of video feeds approved for that client is constructed and displayed on the client computer. The display can include a selectable representative image of the available broadcast. When selected, a display window appears with the live video feed.

A method and system for &ldquo;selective&rdquo; tunneling of streaming data from a server to a client in a computer network having one or more network segments. The server has a tunneler utility, and the client has a receiver utility. The receiver utility first attempts to detect if a given data stream is available via IP multicast on the network segment supporting the client. If not, then the receiver utility issues a request for a IP unicast stream. This request is serviced by the tunneler utility. The tunneler utility re-broadcasts the IP multicast feed using IP unicast to send the data stream directly to the requesting user and/or to a repeater utility. The receiver utility then receives and processes the data stream for output to the end user. Alternatively, the receiver application, or a network administrator, launches the repeater utility, which then converts the IP unicast stream back to IP multicast format for re-broadcast over the network segment to other clients.

Selective tunneling of streaming data

The present invention provides a method and system for locating available information in a network environment by a user in a node. In a system aspect, within a node in the network, the present invention includes a network sniffer and an access sniffer. The access sniffer includes an access element and an access interface. The access element preferably includes a memory and a database. The access element accesses the network sniffer and filters out unavailable information by using information such as address and port numbers gathered by the network sniffer. Unavailable information includes information which is non-public or beyond the privilege level of the particular user. The access element evaluates data streams which are public information to determine if the data streams meet a predetermined criteria. If the data streams meet the predetermined criteria, then the data is saved in the database. The access element transfers only the information available to the particular user to the access interface. The access element can time itself for a limited amount of time for execution. Once the predetermined time period has expired, the access element is complete and it can save and transfer the appropriate information to the access interface.
