A gas turbine engine can include a compressor section, a combustion section, and a turbine section in serial flow arrangement. At least one of the combustion section or turbine section can have an exhaust gas passage. The turbine engine can also include an exhaust gas temperature sensor with a housing having an elongated probe portion. The elongated probe portion can have an outer wall bounding an interior. A temperature probe can be provided within the housing.

A temperature sensor assembly having a support tube defining an interior, a temperature sensor having a distal end and a proximal end located within the interior, and, a concentric ring surrounding at least a portion of the temperature sensor and the concentric ring is positioned between the temperature sensor and the support tube for holding the temperature sensor in the support tube.

An air temperature sensor for use on an aircraft can include a housing defining an interior and having a trailing edge, a temperature sensor having a distal end and located within the interior, a support tube surrounding at least a portion the temperature sensor, an element shroud surrounding at least a portion of support tube, and a bushing isolating the trailing edge of the housing from the distal end of temperature sensor.

A total air temperature sensor can include an airfoil portion. The airfoil portion can an inlet and an outlet through which a diverted airflow path can flow. The total air temperature sensor can include a temperature sensor located within a housing defining the total air temperature sensor and a sheath surrounding the temperature sensor. The temperature sensor can be configured to take a total temperature of the diverted airflow path.

A total air temperature sensor can include a first airfoil having a heated first surface, a second airfoil having a second surface spaced from the first surface and defining a sensor chamber, a temperature sensor located within the chamber, and a sheath surrounding the temperature sensor.

A temperature sensor assembly includes a bluff body, and a first member spaced apart from the bluff body that defines a first flow channel in relation to the bluff body. The temperature sensor assembly also includes a second member spaced apart from the bluff body that defines a second flow channel in relation to the bluff body. The first member and the second member further define a third flow channel in fluid communication with and downstream of the first flow channel and the second flow channel. The temperature sensor assembly also includes a sensor element spaced apart from the bluff body and disposed at least partially within the third flow channel.

A method of assembling a temperature sensing device for a gas turbine engine is provided. The method includes providing a temperature sensor and providing a housing configured to envelop the temperature sensor. A method and an assembly for sensing a process parameter are provided. The sensor assembly includes a base, a pedestal including a body extending between a leading edge and a trailing edge in a direction of fluid flow past the body, a first edge of the pedestal coupled to the base, a second edge opposes the first edge. The sensor assembly also includes an airfoil extending from the pedestal, a leading edge of the airfoil aligned with the leading edge of the pedestal, the airfoil extending in a direction of a flow of fluid along the second edge. The sensor assembly further includes a sensor element extending from the second edge spaced apart from the airfoil by a first gap, and a shield at least partially surrounding the sensor element, the shield spaced apart from the airfoil by a second gap defining a fluid flow inlet to the sensor element.
