A trailer-based system and related method are described for efficiently transporting, configuring and deploying a power flow control system, including connection to a power transmission line. The system may include preconfigured modules using bolted attachments, hoist rings and a corona ring structure. Standardized clamps are also used. A plurality of power flow control modules is operable while mounted on the trailer. The power flow control modules are configurable to inject reactive power into the power transmission line.

Deployment of power flow control systems

A power flow control subsystem having multiple configurations is described. The subsystem is three-way configurable: as a transportable configuration, as a deployable configuration, and as a transmission line configuration. The transportable configuration includes a collection of impedance injection modules and at least one bypass module carried on a wheeled vehicle such as a trailer. The deployable configuration is an assembly of the collection of impedance injection modules and at least one bypass module, operable to perform power flow operations. The transmission line configuration includes connection of a deployable configuration to a phase of a high voltage transmission line for performing power flow control. The deployable configuration may be open or closed frame. The deployable configurations may be mounted on one or more wheeled vehicles in a mobile subsystem, or semi-permanently mounted at a ground site.

A water diffuser system and a water sports board with a water diffuser system installed thereon, wherein the water diffuser system can improve stability of a water sports board by modulating the cavitation and turbulence caused by the fin system of the water sports board. The water diffuser system includes one or more water diffusers. The one or more water diffusers can be located at the tail edge of the bottom surface of the water sports board. The water diffusers can have rigid hydrofoil structures that are able to modulate the turbulent flow and cavitation caused by known fin systems.

A stretch wrap applicator includes one or more cutting members arranged to engage the stretch wrap to cut it into strips as it is dispensed from the roll. The strips are then gathered and stretched into strings that are wrapped around the object. A roller is biased toward the stretch wrap roll to ensure an even flow of stretch film from the roll and more consistent tension on the film dispensed from the roll. The roller includes a groove. A cutting member is disposed to rest in the groove such that stretch film passes over and around the roller as it is dispensed from the roll and then engages the cutting member in the grove before the stretch film separates from the roller.

A stretch film dispensing apparatus gathers the stretch film into a string or rope for use in securing an object to a pallet for shipping. The stretch film can be converted into a string or rope by passing it through one or more of a hook, funnel, apparatus, set of gears, or the like to effect stretching and/or twisting of the film into a string or rope.

A portable support structure defines a generally horizontal path along which an elongated log may be longitudinally shifted and mounts an upwardly opening tree trunk supporting and guiding crotch structure therefrom as well as a pair of curvilinear limb stripping blades mounted for movement toward and away from each other and defining a tree trunk encircling cutting opening therebetween generally coaxial with the aforementioned path. Log presence sensing structure is spaced along the path from the blades and mounted from the support structure for movement between upper and lower limit positions and resiliently yieldable motion transmitting structure is operatively connected between the log pressure sensing structure and the blades for swinging the latter toward and away from each other responsive to down and up movement, respectively, of the log pressure sensing structure.

In a furnace having a boiler in which a pair of spaced electrode plates are supported, electric current is applied to the electrodes to generate steam which flows out of the boiler through a steam conduit to a heat exchanger. A blower forces air across the heat exchanger and out of the furnace through duct work for distribution to the rooms that are to be heated. An equalizer line is connected from the steam conduit to the bottom of the boiler. A return line, having a Hartford loop located above the bottom of the boiler but below the water level of the boiler, returns condensate from the heat exchanger to the boiler through the equalizer line.
