A method of structuring a machine to heat a dialysis fluid includes: (i) allowing flow of the dialysis fluid through a disposable fluid conduit; (ii) directing energy from a 2-dimensional energy source to apply energy to the dialysis fluid in the disposable fluid conduit; and (iii) directing energy from a 3-dimensional energy source to apply energy to the dialysis fluid in the disposable fluid conduit.

Method of structuring a machine to heat dialysis fluid using radiant energy

An in-line fluid heater for heating fluid, such as dialysis fluid for use in dialysis therapy is provided. The fluid heater is a dual heater having a primary infrared heater and a secondary plate heater. A controller is operatively connected to the infrared heater and to the plate heater and operates one or both of the infrared heater and the plate heater to maintain a temperature of the fluid.

An apparatus, a system and a method for venting a gas from a liquid delivery system are provided. A venting tube may be provided and may be positioned within a chamber that contains the liquid. The liquid may have a top surface within the chamber. The venting tube may have an opening covered by a liquiphobic membrane or a hydrophobic membrane. The membrane may define a plane or a surface which is not parallel to the top surface of the liquid. Gas may pass through a portion of the membrane into the venting tube. Moreover, the membrane may vent the gas. The membrane is non-parallel to the liquid, and, as a result, the membrane may be less prone to clogging.

Gas venting device and a system and method for venting a gas from a liquid delivery system

Apparatus and method are provided for qualifying POTS devices for optimum operation that involve measurements and analysis of the POTS device's impedance over the modem spectrum, noise emanations, and non-linear distortion. The apparatus includes a test port that analyzes the POTS device measurements that could impact the data communication device performance over the POTS line into the user premises. Testing for line monitoring of the entire premises while the data communication device is in an operating state is also possible. Operating state testing measures the minimum and maximum data rate achievable by the data communication device while each POTS device is in an on-hook or off-hook state. The data communications device is configured to provide notice if a less than desirable data rate occurs. This notice indicates that there is a device connected within the user premises that is limiting the overall data rate and that testing of each individual POTS device is needed.
