A cargo carrier is readily configured to transport bicycles, skis and poles, snowboards, canoe paddles and other cargo through the use of a vertical frame into which various rods may be placed, at locations most suited for the specific cargo. One or more of the rods includes a strap and buckle which allows the strap to be adjusted for length. Intermediary along the strap various rings and spacers may be located to slidably engage both cargo and carrier. In use, the strap is used to encircle cargo and is held adjacent a support through a sliding retainer which is slipped onto the carrier. Prior to assembly of the carrier, the few components of the carrier are relatively two dimensional, so the carrier may be packaged, stocked and sold in compact, flat packaging.

Method and apparatus for cinching cargo to a vehicle carrier

A vehicle receiver mounted cargo carrier is readily configured to transport bicycles, skis and poles, canoes, canoe paddles and other cargo through the use of a vertical frame into which various rods may be placed, at locations most suited for the specific cargo. The carrier is designed to be free standing out of the vehicle receiver, and so may be used as a storage organizer for the cargo before, during and after transport. Carrier for a trailer-hitch receiver with improved pin lock

An anti-rattle, locking hitch receiver clamp has a lever arm, a hand screw at one end thereof, a force plate at an end opposite the hand screw, and a pivot located therebetween, but closer to the active edge. The clamp may be slipped onto a first shank such as a trailer ball shank, and then the first shank inserted into a hollow receiver such as a trailer hitch receiver. The hand screw is then rotated and, through the pivot, the clamp applies a multiplied force between the shank and receiver. The clamp will then securely retain the shank within the receiver without rattle or vibration therebetween. A trailer hitch pin may be used for the pivot, though other variations of design and materials are disclosed.

Engine coolant heater

A liquid pulsation dampening device comprises a sound transmitting tube structure, including a helical fin that causes incoming pulsations within a liquid to first traverse a spiral path. Vibrations and pulsations transmitted through the liquid are transferred to the tube and are effectively cancelled during their subsequent reverse axial movement through the tube interior. The housing includes a port leading between the housing and tube. One end wall includes a port leading to the tube interior. Passages are provided at the opposite end of the device for free-flow of liquid between the space separating the housing and tube and the tube interior.

Liquid pulsation dampening device

An immersion heater having the bent legs of the individual electrical elements joined to a wall by a press fit between tapered element surface and tapered wall apertures. A movable brace interconnects the element legs and dampens vibration.

Heating element assembly

An apparatus for maintaining equipment, such as an engine, in readiness for use while it is otherwise nonoperational. The equipment or engine is of the general type having two or more closed liquid recirculation systems. The apparatus bypasses the usual recirculating pumps in such systems. External supply pumps remove liquid from separate sumps or reservoirs and divert the liquids from passage through the normal recirculating pumps of the recirculation systems. The diverted liquid is conditioned to a predetermined temperature by passage through a heat exchanger where one liquid warms or cools the other. The liquids, pressurized by operation of the supply pumps, are then redirected into the equipment recirculation systems downstream from the respective outlets of the recirculating pumps. The pressurized and temperature conditioned liquids are then forced through the equipment passages in the respective recirculation systems in a manner similar to normal liquid circulation during use of the equipment. This maintains the equipment at a temperature in readiness for use. In cases where one of the systems includes a recirculating lubricant, the apparatus also maintains proper lubrication of the equipment elements during periods in which the equipment is not in use.

Multiple liquid heating and circulating system

A method and apparatus for maintaining equipment, such as an engine, in readiness for use while it is otherwise nonoperational. The equipment or engine is of the type having a closed liquid recirculation system. The present method and apparatus bypasses the usual recirculating pump in this system. An external supply power removes liquid from the sump or reservoir, and diverts the liquid from passage through the normal recirculating pump of the recirculating system. The diverted liquid is conditioned to a predetermined temperature by passage through a heat exchanger. It is pressurized by operation of the supply pump. It is then directed into the equipment recirculation system downstream from the outlet of the system's recirculating pump. The pressurized and temperature conditioned liquid is then forced through the equipment passages in the recirculation system. This maintains the equipment at a temperature in readiness for use. In the case of a lubrication liquid system, it also maintains proper lubrication of the equipment elements during periods in which the equipment is not being used.
