In a series progressive divider valve having a number of identical valve units disposed adjacent to each other, each formed by a base member and a spool member having a movable spool therein, a manifold in the form of a plate which can be inserted between the base member and the spool member of a valve unit selectively permits the porting between that valve unit and an adjacent valve unit to be modified so as to direct the output of lubricant to a different location from the output location which would occur in the absence of the manifold. The output can be directed to an output port of the valve unit in which the manifold is inserted (singling) or can be directed to an adjacent valve unit (crossporting). A number of such plates can be stacked to provide further selectivity in directing the lubricant output. The manifold permits the overall output/lubricant delivery configuration of the divider valve to be customized while still permitting each individual valve unit to retain its identical structure, thereby preserving the manufacturing and assembly advantages associated with the use of identical valve units.

Crossport and singling manifold for a series progressive divider valve

A box lubricator formed from an extruded U-shape having bolt receiving U-shaped channels for mounting a top cover, and bolt or anchor receiving T-shaped channels along a bottom side for alternatively mounting the box to a horizontal or vertical structure, and having support rails extending on an inside surface of the bottom for holding along their length selectively positioned cam supports within the lubricator box. The lubricator box also provides along its length and arranged on an inside surface, screw receiving C-shaped channels for mounting end covers to the U-shaped housing. By providing the T-shaped rails and the C-shaped rails, the U-shaped housing can be cut to any length and retains its ability for mounting top covers, end covers, and mounting the box to external structure. The lubricator box also provides a segmented cam shaft wherein each segment has a short shaft mounted to a cam lobe, each segment having a polygonal male protrusion and a complimentary polygonal female receiver so that the segments may be stacked to form an elongate and flexible cam shaft arrangement.

Box lubricator reservoir and reduction drive mechanism

A lubricant applying system which may have a plurality of lubricant injectors along a lubricant supply/return passage which receives lubricant under predetermined pressure through one end from a source for discharging and sequentially recharging the injector in one phase and in a second phase after the recharging permitting return of surplus lubricant from the injector through the passage to the lubricant source. A pressure sensor connected to the opposite end of the passage monitors pressure conditions in the passage. The lubricant injector has a displacement plunger and a cooperatively related metering plunger. The displacement plunger is responsive to lubricant passage line pressure which drives the displacement plunger in a displacement stroke, during which a passageway is connected by the displacement plunger with a metering chamber from which the metering plunger is driven by the pressure and the metering chamber charged while the metering plunger closes the lubricant passage. Upon release of pressure the displacement plunger is biased in a return stroke, and the metering plunger is biased into a metering stroke for driving the charge of lubricant from the metering chamber into a displacement chamber at the inner end of the displacement plunger. This also opens the lubricant passage for return of surplus lubricant to the source.

Lubricant applying system and injector means

A ball check valve having a body with a through passageway having an internally restrictive frustoconical seat is provided with a frustoconical metallic backup member having a different cone angle than the seat and a large diameter ball having a maximum diameter greater than the maximum diameter of the backup member, the backup member having a contoured large diameter axial end face for receipt of a portion of the ball such that a seal is provided between the seat and the ball and between the backup member and the seat and means urging the ball against the backup member large diameter axial end and the backup member against the seat.

Check valve

A cyclic lubricant distributor valve has an inlet block unit, an end block unit and at least three intermediate block units. Each of the intermediate block units has a bore, a spool movable in the bore and at least one lubricant outlet. A series of ports and passages are formed in the various block units to provide for cyclic operation of the distributor valve. Each of the intermediate block units is formed of a base member, in which the outlet (or outlets) is formed, and a separate and separable spool member, in which a bore is formed containing a movable spool. Through bolts connect the inlet block unit, the end block unit and the base members of the intermediate block units in fixed assembly. Other bolts connect each of the spool members in fixed assembly only with its corresponding base member.

Cyclic lubricant distributor valve

A rotatable coupling member for attachment to an end or between the ends of hose or tubing to be used in the conveyance of a fluid under pressure. The coupling member comprises a first body member having means disposed at one end thereof for attaching the first body member to a source of fluid and a substantially tubular shaped insert extending away from a second end thereof into an axially aligned receiving bore disposed at a first end of a second body member that provides a fluid interconnecting relationship to a second end of the second body member having means disposed thereat for attachment to a source of fluid. An annular retainment groove having a cross-sectional shape capable of being altered as a result of an axial compressive force being applied to the insert is disposed in the first body member insert outer wall. An annular retainment receiving groove is disposed in the inner wall of the receiving bore and is axially aligned with the insert retainment groove so that retainment means such as, for example, an arcuate shaped wire, originally disposed in the insert retainment groove, is caused to extend radially outwardly therefrom into the second body member retainment receiving groove as a result of axially compressing the insert to provide a rotatable, interlocked relationship between the first and second body members.

Rotatable hose or tube coupling

A connecting member is provided for connecting an automatic lubricating system to the conventional lubrication fittings provided for lubricating the bearings of a motor vehicle. The connecting member has a bore shaped to fit snugly about the head of the fitting and a bore between the check valve of the fitting and a feed line or other source of lubricant. The head of the fitting is pressed against an O-ring in the connecting member to seal the interface therebetween and is held in position by a removable wire clip which extends through the connecting member and against the shoulder of the fitting.

Connecting member for lubrication system

An electrical connector assembly has a receptacle and a plug having mating electrical contact members. The plug has a key or other protuberant member which is external of the receptacle. A cover on the receptacle is biased towards its closed position and has a latch member which engages the protuberant member to hold the plug against longitudinal movement relative to the receptacle. A spring clip member is attached to the plug and has a resilient portion which biases the cover towards the plug and thus increases the pressure of the cover against the plug and strengthens the lock formed by the latch member of the cover.

Electrical connector assembly

An electrical cable of conventional or retractable helical coil form which is relatively small in diameter and sufficiently flexible to be used to advantage on a tractor-trailer to connect the power supply on the tractor with the electrical system carried by the trailer has a polymeric sheath, an insulated 10 gauge stranded conductor substantially coaxial with the sheath, four to six insulated stranded 12 gauge conductors substantially evenly spaced about the periphery of the 10 gauge conductor, a plurality of uninsulated stranded conductors of 14 gauge disposed between the smaller insulated conductors, filler material filling the spaces between the conductors and preferably a plastic film helically wound about the conductors. The 12 and 14 gauge conductors are helically wound about the 10 gauge conductor. The assembly of conductors, filler and plastic film combine to form a cable having a substantially circular cross-section and substantially fill the sheath. The cable is preferably coiled into a self-storing configuration.
