System and methods for alerting a healthcare provider to prescribed treatments having reduced or no effectiveness due to genetic composition is provided. A database containing treatments known to have reduced or no efficacy in persons having particular genetic markers is queried to determine whether any treatments prescribed by, or likely to be prescribed by, a healthcare provider to the patient are known to have reduced or no efficacy in persons having the same certain genetic markers as the patient. An alert indicating such information is displayed at a healthcare provider system.

System and method for alerting providers to ineffective or under effective treatments based on genetic efficacy testing results

An intravascular catheter device includes an expandable portion secured to a flexible catheter tube and configured for controllable movement between a first position where at least a portion of each of a plurality of struts is moved outward so as to extend beyond an outer surface of a sheath and a second position where the struts are compressed. A limiter for restricting expansion of the expandable portion is interposed between the expandable portion and a tip member located distal to the expandable portion. An incising element associated with one of the struts is configured to incise tissue located within a blood vessel when the expandable portion is placed in the first position and retracted axially along the blood vessel.

System and methods for automating preauthorization of genetic efficacy testing with prescription dispensation are provided. Coverage requests for medicines are received from pharmacy systems. Databases are queried to retrieve policy rules for the coverage requests. A coverage decision analysis is performed and where an associated medication is otherwise approved for coverage and where genetic efficacy testing is available for the associated medication, a prior authorization for such genetic efficacy testing is automatically generated and included with which is transmitted together with an approval of coverage decision to a requesting one of said number of pharmacy systems.

An intravascular catheter device includes an expandable portion secured to a flexible catheter tube. The expandable portion is slidable relative to a sheath to selectively expose a plurality of struts for outward bowing movement and compression within said sheath. An incising element associated with one of the struts is configured to incise atherosclerotic material when the intravascular catheter device is placed within a blood vessel, the struts are exposed for outward bowing movement, and the expandable portion is retracted along the blood vessel.

System and methods for suggesting insurance eligible genetic tests to a healthcare provider are disclosed. An EMR system is queried to retrieve insurance information, active medications, and diagnoses associated with a particular patient. An eligibility database is queried to retrieve insurance eligibly rules for a particular policy of a particular insurance providers based on the retrieved insurance information. A laboratory information system ('LIS') applies the retrieved insurance eligibility rules to the retrieved active medications and diagnoses to determine eligible genetic tests. An electronic notification comprising an order form for each of the eligible genetic tests is transmitted from the LIS to the EMR.

Intravascular catheter devices and methods for using the same are disclosed. An expandable portion is connected to a flexible catheter tube. A sleeve extends within the expandable portion. The expandable portion includes a number of struts, each of which hinges relative to the flexible catheter tube and the sleeve, and each of which has an intermediate joining portion which permits hinging movement of a first intermediate portion relative to a second intermediate portion upon movement of the sleeve relative to the flexible catheter tube to selectively elevate the intermediate joining portion away from an outer surface of the sleeve. An incising element is oriented to extend along a longitudinal axis of an outer surface of a first intermediate portion of one of the struts for incising vascular tissue.

An intravascular catheter device for modifying tissue located within a blood vessel and methods of using the same are provided. An expandable portion is secured to a distal end of a flexible catheter tube and is operable between a first position and a second position where the expandable portion is enlarged. An incising element extends lengthwise along an outer surface of the expandable portion and is configured to create axially extending slits in the tissue when the expandable portion is placed in the second position and moved axially through the blood vessel. An abrasive is provided at the outer surface of the expandable portion for abrading the tissue when the expandable portion is placed in the second position and move axially through the blood vessel.

An apparatus and method for the treatment of intravascular medical conditions is provided. The device comprising a handle assembly, an expandable portion defined by a plurality of struts oriented along a longitudinal axis and a tip member affixed to a distal end of the struts. The struts are moveable between a collapsed and an expanded position. A catheter tube extends from the handle assembly to the expandable portion. An elongate member is disposed within the catheter tube and is in communication with the handle assembly and the tip member.

Systems and methods monitoring progress of procedures by radiation exposure are provided. Position data is received for an equipment item used for the procedure and configured to produce radiation ('radiation device'). Position data is received from the tracking device during the procedure. An estimated exposure level is determined by a controller for the individual based, at least in part, on the position data from the tracking device relative to the position data from the radiation device and compared to a benchmark. If the estimated exposure level for the individual exceeds the benchmark, an electronic notification is generated.

Position data is received from the position sensors associated with individuals in the medical facility, the AR tracking devices, radiation producing medical equipment, or radiation scattering medical equipment, and the visualization is adjusted accordingly.
