A compression anchor for holding a support member, such as a cylindrical handrail, is disclosed. The anchor includes a body having a cavity and a wedge portion that connects to the body using thick threads, such as 2-4 ACME 2-G threads. The wedge is substantially cylindrical and encircles a support member received in the cavity. A compression ring is in contact with the body and the wedge portion. As the wedge portion turns relative to the body using the threads, the compression ring expands and contracts to loosen or tighten the connection between the received support member and the anchor. The wedge portion and the body are corrosion resistant.

Compression anchor

A lift is provided to facilitate access to swimming pools and spas. The lift includes a base and a mast extending therefrom. An arm pivotally connects to the mast. A seat assembly connects to the arm. An overhead support is positioned above the seat assembly. A first actuator moves the arm about the mast, thereby moving the seat assembly between raised and lowered positions, to bring the seat assembly out of and into a pool. A second actuator rotates the seat assembly relative to the base to position the seat assembly over the pool or deck. In use, the lift attaches to a pool deck, adjacent the pool, and a user accesses the seat assembly from the deck. The second actuator rotates about the base to position the user over the water. The first actuator lowers the seat assembly, and the user exits the seat assembly into the water.

Swimming pool lift and transfer bar

A swimmer's starting platform assembly and method includes a cylindrical anchor/post mating system having a keyed angular positioning device. Preferably, a starting platform has a cylindrical support post sized for mating engagement within a cylindrical bore of an anchor. The cylindrical support post has a mating key element configured to mate with an anchor key element when the cylindrical support post is inserted into the cylindrical bore to maintain a fixed angular orientation between the cylindrical support post and the cylindrical bore so that the starting platform is fixed with a desired orientation relative to the anchor.

Starting platform and anchor system

A portable chair is disclosed having a seat, a frame that supports the seat, a ladder that provides access to the seat; and a hollow tank that holds a liquid mass, connected to the frame. The frame includes first and second side supports each having a forward support and a rear support. Each of the forward and rear supports has an upper end and a lower end, and the seat is connected to the frame proximate the upper ends of the forward and rear supports. The frame also includes a lower frame that connects the forward supports to the rear supports near the lower ends of the forward and rear supports. The tank is connected to the lower frame to provide stability to the chair.
