A bone anchor, including: a bone engaging member including: a first proximal bone engaging portion and a second distal bone engaging portion; and an expansion feature configured to allow radial expansion of the first bone engaging portion and the second bone engaging portion; an expander having a first proximal expansion portion and a second distal expansion portion and displaceable between a first position relative to the bone engaging member and a second position relative to the bone engaging member; a tissue capture feature; and wherein the first expansion portion of the expander is configured to expand the first bone engaging portion of the bone engaging member and the second expansion portion of the expander is configured to expand the second bone engaging portion of the bone engaging member when the expander is in the second position.

Dual expansion anchor

Disclosed herein are methods and devices for securing soft tissue to a rigid material such as bone. A bone anchor is described that comprises an anchor body with expandable tines and a spreader that expands the tines into bone. Also disclosed is a bone anchor that comprises a base and a top such that suture material may be attached to apertures in the anchor top or else compressed between surfaces on the base and top to secure the suture to the anchor. Also described is an inserter that can be used to insert the bone anchor into bone and move the spreader relative to the anchor body attach suture material. Also described is an inserter that can be used to insert the bone anchor into bone and move the anchor top relative to the anchor body or anchor base to attach to or clamp suture material there between. Methods are described that allow use of single bone anchor to secure tissue to bone or also to use more than one bone anchor to provide multiple lengths of suture material to compress a large area of soft tissue against bone.

A delivery system for delivering a plurality of helical tissue anchors to repair a wall defect. Coaxially contained within the outer sheath are inner tubular members. The first inner tubular member designed to deploy a first helical tissue anchor, a second inner tubular member designed to deploy a second helical tissue anchor, and a centered inner tubular member contains a cinching mechanism. The two helical tissue anchors are connected to a suture or strap that pull the two helical tissue anchors together to close a tissue defect. A cinching mechanism holds the anchors and tissue defect together and cut the suture or strap.

Disclosed is a handle mechanism, including: a body, a first anchor delivery device provided to the body, a second anchor delivery device provided to the body, a tightening device provided to the body, and a locking and cutting device provided to the body. The tightening device is configured to pull a suture member.

Handle mechanism, delivery system and operation method

Disclosed herein are methods and devices for securing soft tissue to a rigid material such as bone. A tissue anchoring device is described that comprises an anchor body and a spreader such that tissue may be captured or compressed between outside surfaces on the anchor and inside surfaces of a bone tunnel to secure the tissue within the tunnel. Methods are described that enable use of the bone anchoring device to secure a tissue graft into the tibial and femoral bones during anterior cruciate ligament ('ACL') reconstruction.

Tissue anchors and systems and methods for delivering and removing them are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, the tissue anchor may include an outer shell including a proximal end, a distal end, a passage extending therebetween, and a plurality of expandable arms; an expander including a proximal portion disposed within the passage and distal portion that extends distally from the outer shell distal, the expander movable proximally relative to the outer shell to a deployed position wherein the distal portion directs the plurality of arms outwardly to engage adjacent bone. A fork extends from the distal portion of the expander including a pair of tines spaced apart from one another and a concave distal surface extending between the tines. A suture loop extends from the distal portion of the expander for capturing a tissue structure.
