A fluid proportioning valve meters a flow of secondary fluid into a flow of primary fluid in a predetermined, controllable proportion of secondary fluid to primary fluid and in a predetermined, controlled volume flow of secondary fluid responsive to volume flow of primary fluid. The fluid proportioning valve includes: a housing defining a conduit in operation for flow of secondary fluid from an inlet in communication with a source of secondary fluid towards an outlet in communication with a source of primary fluid; a first valve element disposed within the housing and defining a first valve opening between inlet and outlet; and a second valve element disposed within the housing and defining a second valve opening between inlet and outlet. The first and second valve elements are mounted for relative movement in first and second degrees of motion, the first and second valve openings being in overlapping relationship in at least some position of the first and second valve elements, to permit flow of secondary fluid from the inlet toward the outlet.

Fluid proportioning valve and method

Fire fighting nozzle

Nozzle having a housing with a cylindrical inner surface and with a fixed wall extending at a right angle to its axis. A movable wall is mounted in the housing adjacent the fixed wall and is rotatable about the axis, so that a pattern of apertures in the movable wall match similar apertures in the fixed wall to control flow of fluid therethrough.

Fire fighting nozzle having a hard grip containing a bottom-actuated pilot valve which admits small amounts of a fluid under pressure to a main fluid valve to control its operation to regulate large flows of the fluid.

A fire fighting turret including three 90.degree. elbows arranged seriatim with swivel joints where the two end elbows are connected to the central elbow attached to a second turret in such a manner that reaction forces create no problem and the field of aiming is affected very little.
