A two-point latch for a door, and having first and second bolts, a latch body with a housing and a cap defining a slide path within the body for the bolts, first and second handles mounted in the latch body for sliding along a handle path parallel to the slide path, and a spring carried in the handles for urging the handles apart. First and second bolt actuators are positioned in the latch body between the handles and the bolts, with the first handle and actuator interengaging for connecting the first actuator to the first handle, and with the second handle and actuator interengaging for connecting the second actuator to the second handle. The first actuator and bolt interengage for drawing the first bolt inward by the first handle, and the second actuator and bolt interengage for drawing the second bolt inward by the second handle, and another spring is carried in the latch body for urging the bolts outward.

Two-point self-closing latch

A latch having a housing and a handle mounted in the housing for pivoting between a rest position and an unlatching position, a cam lever pivotally mounted in the housing for rotation by the handle about a first axis, a bolt drive slide mounted in the housing for translation along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis, a bolt mounted in the housing for translation along a third axis perpendicular to the second axis, and springs for the slide and the bolt, with the cam lever and bolt drive slide engaging for moving the slide and with the bolt drive slide and bolt engaging for moving the bolt when the handle is pivoted to the unlatching position.

Self-closing latch

Apparatus for molding a strip of blind rivets, with each of the rivets having a pin within a sleeve and with the pin having a pulling head and shank, including a strip advance rod mounted in the apparatus for movement between first and second positions, a set of pin mold cavities and a set of sleeve mold cavities, a first runner for feeding the pin mold cavities and including a band around the rod, a second runner overlying the first runner for feeding the sleeve mold cavities, opposing mold members defining the sets of cavities and a sprue for feeding molding material to the runners, with the rod and strip moving together when the mold members are out of engagement for advancing the molded parts, and with the rod moving through the strip when the mold members are in engagement for returning the rod to the first position.

Apparatus for making blind rivets

A draw latch for a container or the like including a latch mounting bracket, a U-shaped yoke, with the bracket and yoke interconnected for pivoting of the yoke relative to the bracket, a hook with a U-shaped end defining a cam space, with the bight of the yoke slidingly positioned in the cam space, and a cam carried in the cam space for translation and rotation relative to the hook and yoke for actuating the latch.

Method for molding a strip of blind rivets

A catch for a door latch or the like for use with a strike for latching a door. The catch is formed of a single piece, typically a molding or a stamping, with a base for mounting at a door or door frame, a lever fixed to the base, and a tang carried on the lever. The tang has a normal position and a latching position with the lever functioning as a spring to urge the tang to the normal position, and with the tang being deflectable to the latching position for passing over a ramp of a strike.

Catch for door latch

A cover for a latch or the like mounted at an opening in a panel and comprising a base member and a closure member, with the base member having a bottom and a wall around the bottom, and with the closure member having a gasket, a closed top, and a hinge joining the gasket and top. The base member bottom and the closure member gasket have openings for alignment with the panel opening for receiving the latch and clamping the cover to the panel around the latch, with the base member wall and said closure member top having interengaging lips for holding the closure member top on the base member wall.

Blind rivet and method and apparatus for making same

A splint device for immobilizing the spine of a patient, including a frame having a central support, first wings for fixing the head of the patient to the central support, second wings for fixing the trunk of the patient to the central support, and attachments for joining the respective wings together about the patient, an open central channel and right and left channels on each side of and parallel to the central channel in the frame central support, a cover fixed to the frame and overlying the central support enclosing the channels, each of the right and left channels having an open end, and with stiffener bars slidably insertable into the enclosed right and left channels through the open ends thereof.

Splint device

A locking entry door latch equipped with a positive locking dead bolt and a latch bolt. The latch includes a housing, a sliding latch bolt mechanism, a sliding dead bolt mechanism, a center bolt to resist longitudinal loading, a strike assembly with a precatch that holds the door latched when it is not completely closed and a final catch for the latch bolt and dead bolt, a locking mechanism and inside and outside operating handles. Both the locking mechanism and the operating handles are independently operable from inside or outside the vehicle.

Locking door latch

A protective padlock hasp for receipt of a range of padlocks having different length shackles for connecting adjacent parts together. The device includes a pair of mounting plates having formed integrally therewith one or more protective plates which are arranged to be disposed in confronting relationship with the shackle and are carried from the mounting plate by means of an intermediate web formed with openings for receipt therethrough of the opposite legs of the shackle. The dimensions of the shield plate is such that it extends downwardly to the body of the padlock and upwardly to the level of the closed horseshoe shaped end of the shackle to thus block access to such shackle by bolt cutters or the like. One or more spacer devices are provided for nesting against one of the mounting plates and are formed with a spacer leg to be disposed under the web and project downwardly into butting engagement with the top of the padlock body to block travel thereof upwardly toward the web.

Protective padlock hasp for use with padlocks having multiple length

A shackle protective padlock mount for use with a conventional padlock having a shackle of inverted U-shape with oppositely located legs. The mount includes a pair of shackle receivers adapted for attachment to the structures which are to be locked together. The receivers have openings for receiving the shackle. The receivers are constrained from moving apart by integral tabs which extend laterally outwardly of the respective receivers. The tabs are adapted to engage the oppositely located shackle legs to prevent separation of the receivers and deny access to the shackle by cutting tools or the like. The receivers are adapted to accommodate different sizes of shackles.

Shackle protective padlock mount

A tamper proof slide bolt locking apparatus having a mounting plate which mounts a slide bolt. The plate is attachable to movable structure such as a garage door, and a portion extends outwardly from the door. A hasp fixed to the slide bolt extends downwardly and then outwardly from the door in overlying relation to the outwardly extending portion of the plate. The outwardly extending portions of the plate and hasp include shackle openings for locking them against relative movement. The front margins of the plate and hasp are downwardly and upwardly directed, respectively, to overlie and protect vulnerable portions of the padlock shackle.

Tamper proof slide bolt locking apparatus

A slide hinge for pivotally mounting two bodies includes a curved channel disposed in a housing and a beam member slideably disposed in the channel. The housing is mounted to one of the bodies and the beam member is mounted to the other body. As the beam member slides in the channel, the hinged bodies pivot with respect to each other.

A quick release hinge/latch for removably attaching two surfaces including a keeper adapted to attach to a surface and having an edge portion in the form of a hollow keeper tube, a housing adapted to attach to another adjacent surface and also having an edge portion in the form of a hollow housing tube such that the keeper tube and housing tube fit together to form an extended tube, a pin which slides within the extended tube to detachably connect the keeper and housing and a flat spring/actuator which attaches to the pin through an opening in the housing tube. The spring/actuator when in a first position holds the pin partially extended into the keeper tube. When the leg portions of the spring/actuator are pinched together and into a second position the pin is withdrawn from the keeper tube. The pinched spring/actuator can then be rotated about the housing tube axis into a third position where the spring/actuator locks into a radial opening in the housing tube to thereby lock the pin entirely within the housing tube allowing easy detachment of the housing from the keeper.
