The disclosure relates to a method for radially aligning wheelsets of rail vehicles relative to a coordinate system of a wheelset diagnosis tool and/or wheelset machine tool, which method can be implemented quickly with sufficient precision and comprises the following steps: a) positioning the wheelset at a working position of the tool; b) defining a tool-side coordinate system in an assumed wheel centre point of each wheel, where an X-axis adopts a vertical extent, a Y-axis adopts a horizontal extent and a Z-axis describes the resulting depth extent of the wheel; c) measuring the distance of the wheel backs with respect to one another and defining the Z-position=0 on each wheel back; d) defining a unique Z-position for each measuring point; e) positioning each measuring sensor at the specified Z-position; f) measuring the X-position of each measuring point; g) aligning the wheelset by vertically displacing one of the wheels in order to match the X-positions of the measuring points of two wheels.

Method for radially aligning wheelsets of rail vehicles

The invention relates to a device () for calibrating an underfloor wheelset lathe () without a calibration wheelset, comprising; a motor () with a rotational axis (D), a friction roller (), and a measuring bridge (), wherein the friction roller () is connected p a driveshaft of the motor (). The aim of the invention is to allow a simpler calibration without a calibration wheelset. This is achieved in that the friction roller () has an approximately cylindrical frictional surface with a defined nominal diameter. Device and method for calibrating an underfloor wheelset lathe without a calibration wheelset

Represented and described is an underfloor wheel set processing machine, in particular an underfloor wheel lathe (') for reprofiling wheels and brake discs of wheel sets () of rail vehicles, comprising: a machine stand (), a crossbeam () for bridging a workshop track () with at least two rails (A,B,C) in the transverse direction, two roller carriers (A,B), at least four friction rollers (), at least one friction roller drive () to drive the friction rollers () and at least one axial guide roller () to axially guide the wheel set (), wherein the machine stand () has a first part (A) and a second part (B), wherein the crossbeam () is supported on both parts (A,B) of the machine stand (), wherein the roller carriers (A,B) are movably connected to the machine stand (), and wherein the friction rollers () are rotatably supported on the roller carrier (A,B). In order to adjust to wheel sets () with different track widths, it is proposed for the first part (A) of the machine stand () and the second part (B) of the machine stand () to be displaceable relative to one another in the transverse direction.

The invention relates to a method for measuring and calculating geometric parameters of the wheels of a wheelset for rail vehicles, wherein the wheelset to be evaluated is rotatably mounted in a wheelset machine tool or in a wheelset diagnostic system and wherein measured values for profile measurement with respect to profile wear to be detected are determined during rotational motion of said wheelset. The problem addressed by the invention is to expand already available measuring methods on known wheelset machine tools and wheelset diagnostic systems in such a way that further geometric parameters can be detected and evaluated. This problem is solved in that methods for measuring and calculating the equivalent conicity and the radial run-out property of a wheelset are integrated as new measurement functions, wherein solution approaches are proposed for these additional methods.
