A sensor assembly comprising a first rotary sensor part having a plurality of individual electrically conducting code segments arranged in a circumferential pattern, and a plurality of electrically conducting reference segments between the code segments, and a second rotary sensor part arranged rotationally relative to the first part a plurality of contact structures, each contact structure being arranged to be in contact with either a code segment or a reference segment depending on the rotational position between the first and second rotary sensor part. The contact structures are configured to engage and connect to different sensor segments as the first and second rotary sensor part rotate relative to each, the created connections being indicative of a rotational position between the first and second rotary sensor part. For a given rotational position, at least one contact structure engages a code segment and at least one contact structure engages a reference segment.

Rotary sensor assembly with space efficient design

A portable pen-type drug injection device () comprises a main portion () and a clip (). The clip comprises a base portion mounted to a portion of the drug delivery device, and a clip gripping portion with a free end. The device further comprises drug expelling means having dose setting means () allowing a user to set a dose of drug to be expelled, and a piston rod adapted to move a piston of a loaded cartridge in a distal direction to thereby expel drug from the cartridge. Electronic circuitry comprises sensor means adapted to detect a set and/or an expelled dose, and a display () is provided to display dose-related values, wherein at least a portion of the display is arranged in the flexible clip main portion.

A sensor assembly comprising a first rotary sensor part with a plurality of individual electrically conducting axial position sensor segments arranged in a circumferential pattern, and a second rotary sensor part arranged rotationally relative to the first portion and comprising a plurality of circumferentially arranged electrically interconnected axial position contacts adapted to be arranged in contact with the axial position sensor segments. The assembly further comprises actuator means for axially moving the axial position contacts between a connected and a dis-connected position, wherein the axial position contacts and the axial position sensor segments are arranged such that for a given rotational position at least two axial position contacts each are in contact with a different axial position sensor segment.

An electronic logging unit adapted to be housed in a drug-filled cartridge having an axially displaceable piston and an outer cavity formed between the piston and the cartridge proximal opening, the logging unit comprising a general axis, a first distal portion adapted to engage the cartridge piston, and a second proximal portion adapted to engage a rotating element having a rotational axis corresponding to the general axis. The unit is provided with sensor means adapted to detect the amount of relative rotation between the first and second portions, and storage means adapted to store data representing detected amounts of relative rotation.

Dose capturing cartridge module for drug delivery device

An assembly including a drug delivery device and a monitoring device adapted to detect an action taking place in the drug delivery device. The drug delivery device including a main portion having a drug expelling mechanism for expelling drug from the reservoir through an outlet, a housing in which at least a portion of the expelling mechanism is arranged, and a member able to attach a cover to the drug delivery device. The cover is adapted to cover the outlet when mounted. The monitoring device includes a housing portion, a member for detecting an action taking place in the drug delivery device, and at least one member adapted to engage a member present on the main portion. By this arrangement the monitoring device can be placed in a pre-determined position relative to the main portion, allowing efficient transmission of information between the monitoring device and the main portion.

Sensor assembly comprising a first rotary sensor part with a plurality of individual electrically conducting sensor areas arranged in a pattern, a second rotary sensor part arranged rotationally relative to the first portion, the second part comprising a plurality of contact structures adapted to be in contact with conducting sensor areas on the first sensor rotary part. The contact structures are configured to engage and connect different sensor areas as the first and second part of the rotary sensor rotate relative to each, the created connections being indicative of a rotational position between the first and second portions. One of the contact structures is an actuatable contact structure being axially moveable relative to the first portion and having a connected position in which the actuatable contact structure is in contact with a sensor area and a disconnected position in which the actuatable contact structure is not in contact with a sensor area.

A drug delivery system is provided including a drug expelling structure adapted to expel a set dose from a drug-filled cartridge, the expelling structure including a rotational member adapted to rotate relative to a housing and corresponding to a set and/or expelled dose, the system including a sensor adapted to detect a set and/or an expelled dose. The sensor includes a first portion mounted to and rotating with the rotational member, and a second portion including a second rotary sensor part mounted non-rotationally relative to the housing. The first portion includes electronic circuitry, and a first rotary sensor part, and the second portion includes a second rotary sensor part mounted non-rotationally relative to the housing. The first and second rotary sensor parts rotate relative to each other during setting and/or expelling of a dose of drug.

Drug delivery device comprising expelling means allowing a user to set a dose corresponding to a number of increments from an initial state, an indication member adapted to rotate in a first direction corresponding to the set dose, and rotate in an opposed second direction corresponding to an expelled dose, the indication member having an initial rotational position corresponding to both the initial state and the fully expelled dose state. Sensor means having an incremental counter synchronized with the rotational position of the indication member and having a reference point corresponding to the initial rotational position of the indication member. After detecting an error state the sensor means is adapted to re-synchronize by detecting the number of rotational increments for a set dose and for a subsequent expelled dose. If the numbers are identical the reference point is reset corresponding to the current rotational position of the indication member.

Drug injection device () comprising expelling means for expelling an amount of drug from a reservoir, the expelling means comprising setting means () allowing a user to set a dose to be expelled, and actuation means () for releasing the drug expelling means to expel the set dose. The actuation means comprises an actuation member adapted to be moved between an initial position, an intermediate position, and an actuated position in which the expelling means is actuated to expel the set dose. The device further comprises an electronically controlled capturing system () for capturing data representing the amount of drug expelled from the reservoir by the expelling means, and switch means for starting initialization of the capturing system when the actuation member is moved to its intermediate position.
