An insulated bearing includes an outer ring, a plurality of rolling elements, a first aluminum insulating cap, and a second aluminum insulating cap. The outer ring has an inner rolling surface and an outer spiral groove, and the plurality of rolling elements are in rolling contact with the inner rolling surface. The first aluminum insulating cap screwed onto the outer ring from a first axial end. The first aluminum insulating cap has a first inner spiral, complementary to the outer spiral groove. The second aluminum insulating cap is screwed onto the outer ring from a second axial end, opposite the first axial end. The second aluminum insulating cap has a second inner spiral, complementary to the outer spiral groove.

Insulated bearing

A bearing shunt includes a metal washer, a conductive washer made from a carbon fiber mesh, and a metal cover. The metal washer includes a first annular surface, a lip protruding axially from the first annular surface, and a first plurality of lubricant flow holes. The conductive washer includes a second annular surface contacting the first annular surface and a second plurality of lubricant flow holes aligned with the first plurality of lubricant flow holes. The metal cover is disposed radially inside of the lip and contacts the conductive washer. The metal cover includes a third plurality of lubricant flow holes aligned with the first plurality of lubricant flow holes.

Bearing shunt

An insulated bearing includes an outer ring, a plurality of rolling elements, and an insulating cap. The outer ring has an inner rolling surface and an outer spiral groove, the rolling elements are in rolling contact with the inner rolling surface, and the insulating cap is screwed onto the outer ring. The insulating cap has an inner spiral, complementary to the outer spiral groove. In an example embodiment, the outer spiral groove comprises a cross-section having a shape selected from the group consisting of a rectangle, a triangle, and a trapezoid. In an example embodiment, the outer spiral groove has between 2 and 4 revolutions. In an example embodiment, the outer spiral groove has a width of 4 millimeters or less.

A method and system for treating Alzheimer's disease wherein blood, spinal fluid or brain cavity fluid is circulated into and outside of the body by means of blood pumps or other external circulatory systems. While passing through the pumping system, the amyloid plaques and tau tangles are filtered from the fluids and returned to the body lowering the protein levels, and in the process, reduce symptoms. In one embodiment a patient's blood is filtered using a pump to circulate the blood from the patient to the collection vessel where an electrical current will cause anything that has a positive charge to be attracted to a cathode plate suspended in the collection vessel for later disposal. In an alternate embodiment a patient's brain and/or spinal fluid a pump operates to circulate a flushing fluid. The pump will circulate the solution from the collection vessel to the patient.

Methods for treating Alzheimer's disease

A bearing assembly is disclosed herein. The bearing assembly includes an outer bearing ring including at least one first connection element. The assembly also includes a cap defining an axial portion and at least one radial portion defining a cavity configured to receive the outer bearing ring. The cap includes at least one second connection element configured to mate with the at least one first connection element. The cap is formed from an electrically insulating material to prevent EDM.

An integration kit is disclosed herein that allows for mounting of a resolver trigger wheel relative to a bearing assembly, resolver, and rotor. The integration kit simplifies assembly and saves space. The integration kit includes a resolver integration sleeve that includes a first axial section including a radially inner surface defining a bearing support and radially inwardly extending flange defining an axial abutment surface. The resolver integration sleeve also includes a second axial section including at least one anti-rotation slot dimensioned to receive a portion of a trigger wheel, at least one anti-rotation tab extending axially towards the first axial section and dimensioned to be received by a rotor, at least one securing tab extending radially outward and configured to engage a trigger wheel, and a radially outwardly extending flange.

Resolver integration kit for variable reluctance resolver

A hydrodynamic bearing includes an annular washer having an annular face configured to form a hydrodynamic thrust bearing. The annular face defines a plurality of circumferentially spaced oil grooves having opposing first and second lips extending between inner and outer diameters of the face. The annular face further defines a plurality of circumferentially spaced thrust segments alternating with the grooves such that each of the thrust segments is disposed between an associated pair of first and second ones of the grooves. Each of the thrust segments includes a land that is raised on the face relative to the first and second lips of the associated pair, a first ramp extending from the second lip of the first groove to a first side of the land, and a second ramp extending from the first lip of the second groove to a second side of the land.

An insulated socket body and terminal assembly for an integrated chip includes upper and lower insulated socket body portions which are received together in mated relation to define a socket body having a plurality of lumens extending therethrough. The assembly further includes a like plurality of monolithic spring terminals received within the lumens, wherein the spring terminals include upper and lower contact ends connected by a central cantilever spring. The central cantilever springs are received within central recess portions of the lumens and the upper and lower contact ends are received in respective upper and lower guide portions of the lumens and project outwardly from respective upper and lower surfaces of the upper and lower insulated socket body portions. The central recess portions of the lumens are configured to retain the cantilever springs in a first uncompressed configuration and in a second compressed configuration.

In a motor assembly, a rotor and a trigger wheel are each secured to a first race of a four-point contact ball bearing. The circumferential position of the rotor and trigger wheel are each fixed with respect to the first bearing, and therefore with respect to one another. A resolver sensor is bolted to a housing. A second race is mounted at a fixed axial position relative to the housing, thereby locating the trigger wheel with respect to the resolver sensor. In some embodiments, the first race may be an inner race and the second race an outer race. In other embodiments, the first race may be an outer race and the second race an inner race.

The barrel includes a proximal barrel portion having a first outer diameter; a tapering region extending distally from the proximal barrel portion, the tapering region extending both distally and radially inward towards a central axis of the barrel; a plurality of fingers extending distally from the tapering region, the plurality of fingers are all parallel to one another and the central axis; and a dimple contact area extending from each of the plurality of fingers extending radially inward and distally. A sealing assembly for a cup bearing of a universal joint includes a seal sub-assembly configured to be positioned in a space between a cup of the cup bearing and a trunnion of the universal joint. The seal sub-assembly includes an elastic sealing member configured to contact an outer surface of the trunnion, and a seal insert attached to the elastic sealing member and configured to contact an inner surface of the cup. The seal insert includes an extension portion configured to contact and extend away from a rim surface of the cup. The sealing assembly further includes an external shield including an inner portion and an outer portion. The inner portion is configured to contact the outer surface of the trunnion, and the outer portion is attached to the extension portion of the seal insert.

A method of providing lubricant to a bearing assembly is provided. The method includes providing a bearing assembly including a housing with an inner surface that forms an outer race, a plurality of rolling elements that roll on the outer race, and a packet having a rupturable membrane and a predetermined volume of lubricant therein. At least one of a shaft or a cage is inserted into the bearing assembly and ruptures the packet via engagement of the packet with at least one of the shaft or the cage such that the volume of lubricant is distributed to contact surfaces of the bearing assembly.

Contact member for an electronic device socket

A heat sink includes a base and a cover that can be assembled to form a heat sink body, with a channel defined between the base and the cover. The channel extends from a first opening to a second opening. A fan secured to the heat sink body is configured to move air through the first opening, through the channel, and then out through the second opening. Electrical terminals are supported on an insulating body secured to the base. Each electrical terminal has an upper end for receiving a lead of an electronic device, and a lower end for engaging another socket or a printed circuit board. Vias extending through the cover are aligned with the electrical terminals so that a lead of an electronic device can extend through a via into the socket of an electrical terminal. Fins extend from the cover and/or the base.

Heat sink with internal fan

An electronic device socket includes an insulating circuit board having a plurality of electrical terminals mounted therein, a decoupling capacitor mounted on the circuit board and a heat sink body. Each electrical terminal has a female upper end which can receive a lead of an electronic device, and a male lower end which can be received in a printed circuit board or another socket. The decoupling capacitor is electrically connected between the designated voltage and ground terminals. The heat conducting body has an upper surface configured to receive an electronic device in thermally conductive relation, and a lower surface having a recessed cavity configured to receive the circuit board. The heat conducting body has vias corresponding to the electrical terminals. The circuit board is received within the recessed cavity wherein the female upper ends of the electrical terminals are aligned with vias and receive the leads of an electronic device.
