A filter cartridge and filter assembly using the filter cartridge is provided. The filter cartridge having a contoured end member to angularly orient and/or axially orient the filter cartridge, and particularly a seal thereof, relative to a filter housing. The filter housing is reconfigurable to allow it to be used in different locations having different spatial configurations.

Air cleaner with high performance seal and media

A filter element is provided that is preferably a side entry air filter having an air filter media pack, a housing seal and a frame that has a clamping projection, a pivot projection and/or guide members. The clamping projection can define a non-linear bearing surface that may be chevron shaped to provide for interface and potential alignment benefits. The housing seal may be a wave seal that undulates.

Non-cylindrical filter and side entry air cleaner incorporating the same

A filter element includes a filter media having opposite first and second faces, and an outer face extending in a longitudinal direction perpendicular from the first face to the second face. An undulating sealing element is directly bonded to the outer face at a location closer to and offset from the first face. The undulations of the sealing element define an offset region of the outer face of the filter media from the first face, the offset region being defined by an amplitude of the undulations. The filter element may be incorporated into a filter assembly including the filter element enclosed by a filter housing. The sealing element may be made of urethane and be compressible within a mating groove in the filter housing.

Wave seal for filter element

Provided is a filter that filters air flowing from the filter to a downstream component, while preventing fluid from flowing from the filter to the downstream component and preventing a substance, such as urea or fuel, entering the filter from the downstream component from degrading the filter element in the filter. The filter includes a filter element having an interior surface defining an inner chamber and a standpipe extending through the inner chamber and terminating at a point that allows air that flows from outside the filter element through the filter element and into the inner chamber to flow into the standpipe and out of the filter, while preventing fluid flowing from the opposite direction through the standpipe from entering the filter element.

Diesel fuel and urea tank air breather filter

A seal and coupling, wherein the seal has a thin profile including a primary sealing element that provides both a face and radial seal, and a secondary or backup sealing element that provides a face seal. The secondary or backup sealing element seals against leakage past or through the primary sealing element, and the retainer may be made of a fluid impervious material for blocking permeation of fluid from the primary to the secondary seal. The retainer may also function to prevent over-compression of the sealing elements, while also maintaining a radial spacing between the sealing elements.
