Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an open radio access network (O-RAN) distributed unit (O-DU) may generate, at an O-DU application that executes on the O-DU, a first message that does not make use of an O-DU accelerator of the O-DU that is in-line with the O-DU application. The O-DU may transmit, from the O-DU application to an O-RAN radio unit (O-RU), the first message via a passthrough of the O-DU accelerator, wherein the first message does not make use of the O-DU accelerator based at least in part on a payload of the first message being transferred unchanged by the O-DU accelerator to the O-RU. Numerous other aspects are described.

Passthrough of messages in an accelerator of a distributed unit

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station associated with a first radio access network (RAN) may transmit, and a user equipment (UE) may receive, a paging message while the UE is operating in an inactive or idle mode on the first RAN and while the UE is operating in a connected mode on a second RAN. The UE may transmit a response rejecting the paging message to the base station associated with the first RAN, and the response may include information that causes the base station to release the UE to the inactive or idle mode. Accordingly, the base station may transmit, to the UE, a radio resource control message that includes information to release the UE to the inactive or idle mode on the first RAN. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Fast connection release after paging response

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for responding to paging by multiple-universal subscription identity module (multi-USIM) devices. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes camping on a first cell associated with a first universal subscriber identity module (USIM), wherein the UE has a first USIM and a second USIM; receiving a paging message from the first cell; and transmitting, in response to the paging message, a first response message indicating that the UE requests to enter an idle or inactive mode on the first cell.

Responding to paging by multiple-universal subscription identity module devices

Methods, systems, and devices for communications are described. A device or a group of devices may generate data. The group of devices may receive a group profile from a node that identifies the devices to be included, and the group profile may include a function to be evaluated at each of the devices. The node may also provision evaluation parameters which may allow the device to provide authenticated aggregate data to a requesting third party, without sharing the data between the devices, thus concurrently maintaining individual data privacy and data provenance.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for suspending and resuming user plane downlink data for user equipments (UEs) equipped with multiple universal subscriber identity modules (USIMs).

Suspend and resume techniques with radio access network (RAN) and user plane function (UPF) buffered downlink data for multi-USIM user equipment

One aspect relates to initiating, by a device, a connection with an application server associated with one or more application services. A gateway derives an uplink network token and/or a downlink network token. The tokens are provisioned to the device and/or an application server over the user-plane. The tokens are included with uplink and/or downlink packets, respectively. Another aspect relates to receiving a data packet at a gateway. The gateway determines a requirement for a network token from the packet. The gateway derives the network token based on a device subscription profile maintained by a network. The network token may be sent with the packet to a destination address associated with the packet. A packet including a network token may be received at a gateway. The gateway may verify the network token and send the data packet to an application server or a device if the verifying is successful.

Efficient policy enforcement using network tokens for services—user-plane approach

Aspects of the present disclosure provide for a security model for enabling multiple connectivity and service contexts while sharing a single connectivity context to establish a network connection. A context (e.g., connectivity context, service context, security context) is a set of information describing the connectivity, service, or security established between two or more entities. The connectivity context and service context may be established at different network nodes or entities. In one aspect of the disclosure, a connectivity context includes an Evolved Packet System (EPS) Mobility Management (EMM) context or both an EMM context and an EPS Session Management (ESM) context.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Aspects include a device generating data to be sent to a receiving device and determining to provide provenance for the data. The device may generate a data identifier based on an identifier generation key and encrypt the data using an encryption key generated from a key associated with an owner of the device. The device may sign they encrypted data transmission using a signing key where the signing key is based on the encrypted data and the data identifier. In some cases, the device may send the data to a receiving device via one or more proxy devices. In some cases, multiple device may send signed data transmissions to a proxy device and the proxy device may process the multiple data transmission and send the processed data to the receiving device. The receiving device may verify provenance of the data.

Data provenance

Methods, systems, and devices for communications are described. A device or a group of devices may generate data. Aggregate data provenance

A gateway device detects a trigger associated with a device and, in response, identifies an application service associated with the device, obtains a traffic network policy associated with the application service, and obtains a network access token based on the traffic network policy. The network access token facilitates validating and/or mapping a downlink data packet obtained at the gateway device in user-plane traffic that is destined for the device. The network access token is sent to an entity in control-plane signaling. Subsequently, the gateway device obtains a downlink data packet including the network access token. The gateway device verifies the network access token and/or maps the downlink data packet to the device using data obtained from the network access token. The network access token may be removed from the downlink data packet before the downlink data packet is sent to the device according to the mapping.

Efficient policy enforcement for downlink traffic using network access tokens&#x2014;control-plane approach

Systems and techniques enable an improved network selection procedure. Providers maintain preferred networks lists provisioned to UEs. The preferred networks lists include WLAN RATs, and for each entry coverage area and type of supported services. UEs include multiple credentials for connectivity via providers and potentially multiple transceivers supporting multiple active services. A UE triggers a network selection procedure whenever a new service is initiated. A credential is selected. The UE builds a list of network/RAT combinations from preferred networks lists and filters this list, removing entries that do not support the new service. The UE takes the context of the UE into consideration, further filtering the list. The remaining entries are scanned and a network/RAT combination selected. The UE determines whether registering with the selected network/RAT combination causes an interruption to an ongoing service. If not, the UE registers on the selection. If so, the UE engages in interruption resolution.
