An air-powered projectile launcher includes a housing defining a cylindrical launch tube for receiving a projectile and a cylindrical cylinder bore. A piston having an extending piston rod is sealingly movable within the cylinder bore and is coupled at its forward end to a coil spring. The piston rod extends rearwardly through a trigger and cocking mechanism which in turn is coupled to a pivotal pump handle. A ratcheting mechanism is operatively coupled between the pivoting pump handle and the piston rod to facilitate the incremental drawing motion of the piston rod and piston stretching the power spring. The trigger mechanism holds the piston rod against the force of the stretched spring until the user pulls the trigger into its release position. Thereafter, the stored energy of the spring drives the piston forward against the launch tube and projectile providing an air burst which launches the projectile.

A toy for making simulated french fried potatoes includes a base supporting a generally rectangular housing within which a pair of cutter rollers are rotatably supported at the upper end thereof. A crank arm and gear coupling drive mechanism is operatively coupled to the cutter assembly to rotate the cutter rollers as the crank is turned. An upwardly extending cover member positioned above the cutter assembly includes a feed slot and guide passage which directs a bread slice deposited within the feed slot to the interface of the cutting rollers. As the crank is turned the bread slice is drawn through the cutter rollers and sliced into a plurality of elongated segments having an appearance similar to french fried potatoes. The bread segments are then collected within a collecting receptacle and a cooked appearance is imparted thereto by sprinkling coloring and flavoring agents such as cinnamon and sugar upon the bread segments.

A simulated toy hamburger maker includes a mixer grinder, a simulated cooking station, a condiment dispenser apparatus and a hamburger bun storage and dispenser. A mixture of edible food materials such as ground cereal and peanut butter together with edible colorant materials such as chocolate powder is combined and mixed within the grinder mixer station to form a simulated hamburger mixture. The simulated cooking station includes a hamburger press which conforms a quantity of the hamburger mixture into a realistic hamburger patty. The simulated hamburger patty is then placed upon simulated hamburger buns such as conventional vanilla wafer cookies or the like and positioned within a condiment dispensing station. Condiment dispensers are provided which receive a quantity of colored edible material such as cake frosting or the like to extrude upon the simulated hamburger patties. A second cookie simulating the upper bun portion of a hamburger sandwich is then placed upon the condiment bearing patty to complete the simulated hamburger.

A ball catching and launching toy includes an elongated cylinder having a cylindrical bore defined therein. A catch scoop defining a generally concave catching surface is coupled to one end of the cylinder by a tapered funnel guide portion. The remaining of the cylinder receives a slidable handle having a piston rod and piston secured thereto. The piston rod and piston are movable within the cylinder bore to either produce a partial vacuum with the cylinder bore or increased pressure. Once a ball has been successfully captured by the user, the toy is raised to a generally vertical orientation and the handle is withdrawn from the cylinder producing a partial vacuum which urges the ball into a ball receptacle. The ball may then be launched or fired from the toy by rapidly forcing the handle inwardly producing pressurized air within the cylinder bore and ball receptacle which expels the captive ball.

A spinning platen paint set includes a support housing within which a platen is rotatably supported. A push rod operated drive mechanism is coupled to the rotatably supported platen to provide rapid spinning thereof. A curved shroud encloses a portion of the rotating platen while providing access to a paint medium supported upon the rotating platen. A paint mixing stand is supported by the housing within a recessed well and is configured to support a mixing bottle together with a plurality of bottle brush units in a manner permitting the transfer of the desired quantities of individual paints from the supported bottle brush units to the common mixing bottle.

A battery-powered dispenser for hot melt adhesive includes an elongated housing supporting a battery power source therein. A heat exchanger is supported within the housing interior and includes an elongated heat exchanger and a resilient support guide sleeve for receiving a to-be-melted low temperature stick. The heat exchanger includes a discharge nozzle and a recess for receiving and supporting an escott heating element which is operatively coupled to the battery power source.

A football-shaped game ball is formed of a resilient foam material and defines an oblate spheroidal outer surface having generally pointed ends. A plurality of rib portions extend outwardly from the outer surface and define nonsymmetrical cross-sections. In the preferred embodiment shown, the rib portions define generally saw-tooth shaped cross-sections which may be gripped in either of two gripping manners and which provide differing alternative aerodynamic characteristics depending upon the direction of spin imposed upon the football.

A sound producing game bat includes a generally cylindrical slide tube having a center bore defined therein and a fluted outer surface. A generally cylindrical slide weight is received within the center bore of the slide tube and is captivated at the handle end by a resilient dampening plug. The hitting end of the game bat includes a sound producing unit having a sound unit housing within which a diaphragm and diaphragm cone are resiliently supported. During swings of the game bat by the batter, the slide weight travels through the center bore of the slide tube and strikes the diaphragm cone causing the diaphragm to vibrate and producing sound effects. A foam covering is molded upon the game bat to enclose virtually the entire bat in a secure attachment.

An appendage motion responsive doll includes a body having a torso portion and outwardly extending leg and arm appendages as well as a neck and head simulation. The arm appendages are pivotally secured to the torso to permit motion with respect to the torso. The arms are further fabricated in a manner permitting bending or flexing of the arm appendages. One or more bend sensors are supported within one or more of the arms and cooperate with an internally supported voice unit to produce a selected group of sounds corresponding to the degree of arm motion and bending induced by the user.
