A method is disclosed for cooling a heat transfer fluid circulating in a cooling circuit including a chiller. The method includes installing on the circuit a vacuum housing having a heat exchange conduit extending therethrough and partially filled with a coolant and an atmosphere and pre-cooling the atmosphere and coolant within the vacuum housing to a pre-cooling temperature of between 35 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit using a conventional cooling system. Thereafter the pressure in the vacuum housing is reduced to between 1 and 500 millitorr until an initial cooling temperature in the range of of &#x2212;50 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit is reached and the heat transfer fluid is then circulated through the heat exchange conduit and to the chiller and back. The pressure reduction in is obtained by selectively connecting the vacuum housing to a larger vacuum reservoir which is connected to a vacuum pump.

Low pressure refrigeration system

A fluid chiller includes a tubular coil enclosed within a vacuum housing which is partially filled with a coolant and an atmosphere with the vacuum housing connected to a vacuum source. A valve selectively connects the vacuum source to the vacuum housing to allow selective reduction of the pressure within the vacuum housing to obtain a reduction of temperature of the coolant therein. A conventional, compressor type refrigeration system may be connected to the vacuum housing for chilling the vacuum housing and the atmosphere and coolant therein to an initial temperature, prior to applying a vacuum to the vacuum housing for further temperature reduction. A fluid, which may be a secondary coolant, flows through the tubular coil at least partially immersed in the coolant to cool the secondary coolant. The secondary coolant is used to cool a heat load.

Single stage, single phase, low pressure refrigeration system

Methods are disclosed to support adaptive interaction with legacy software applications, without a need for rewriting those applications. The methods are for use with an interactive electronic system including a processor, a display, and an input device with user-manipulated controls. When the legacy application is executed, a supplemental software program, such as a plugin, is also executed and is utilized in order to identify currently relevant interactive features of the legacy application during execution. Functionality is dynamically assigned to the various user-manipulated controls based on the identified features. In one embodiment, detection of objects (particularly the user's hands) proximate to the input controls is also employed in determining the assignment of functionality and/or in displaying a visual representation to the user of the available interactive choices. In another embodiment, the user-manipulated input controls are dynamically and physically reconfigured under control of the processor based on the identified features.

There will then be no further references to this block and it may be page released back to the OS memory management. Thus no paging subsystem I/O occurs. Where data remains in the data space at the conclusion of the unload, errors are noted that would otherwise have gone unnoticed. When a new database is populated with segments from a disorganized database, the invention provides methods for advance calculation of what the segment RBA is going to be in the database to be reloaded. The proxy dataset consists of proxy blocks. Each proxy block in the proxy data set is represented by a counter that denotes the space available in the proxy block. Segments are unloaded in an algorithmic order that corresponds to a hierarchical relationship in the database. As the segments are unloaded, rather than a literal load of the proxy dataset, the length of each segment is sequentially deducted from the proxy block counter. Because, in a preferred embodiment, the proxy load uses the same algorithm that will be used to actually populate the new reorganized dataset, at each proxy segment load, the counter may be used to calculate the RBA the segment will exhibit in the reorganized dataset. Stored in a table is the segment's current and future RBA. The logical parent or logical child RBA pointer of segments that participate in logical relationships is used to search the RBA table. When a match is found, the RBA in the segment's prefix is replaced with the corresponding new RBA found in the table. For segments in databases being reorganized, the RBA for segments in logical relationships is used to search the RBA table. When a match is found, the new RBA is placed in the segment pointer field in place of the old or prior RBA.

When the air brake line on a semi-trailer is disconnected, a plunger is thrust down through the semi-trailer bottom plate to obstruct access to the semi-trailer hitch pin. Reconnection of the air brake line withdraws the plunger.

Truck-trailer antitheft locking system

Highway trailer for hauling cargo has air actuated brakes. Valve mounted on the trailer connected in the air line maintains brake-on air pressure in the line while trailer is parked. Valve has locking handle to inhibit trailer theft.

Truck trailer brake airline lock

A real time, instant replay time-motion analysis system of work measurement that utilizes computer assisted video techniques to simultaneously record and display an operator at work and the elapsed time for the performance of each elemental step in his work task. An observer provides an input signal each time a step is completed and a subsequent step initiated, thereby causing the display of elapsed time relating to the first step to freeze and a display indicating running time for the second step to be generated. Input relating to interruptions occurring during the work process are manually and audibly provided to the system by the observer. The time related data generated during the study is calculated in a microprocessor, and presented as graphical illustrations on the video monitor during replay of the recorded information.
