A dispensing device to deliver a multiple component material to a location in vivo. The device includes a manifold having proximal and distal ends and multiple separate lumens within it, connectable on its proximal end to multiple syringes for containing the multiple component material, a distal tip assembly comprising a tip connector having separate side-by-side lumens within the tip connector and optionally a dispensing tip, and multiple flexible side-by-side cannulae. Each cannulae has a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal ends of the cannulae are connected to a separate lumen at the distal end of the manifold, and the distal ends of the cannulae are connected to one of the side-by-side lumens of the tip connector, establishing a fluid communication between the manifold and the distal tip assembly, wherein the side-by-side cannulae are optionally partially connected along their length and are split at their proximal and distal ends.

Rigid and flexible laparoscopic multiple component material dispensing devices and methods

The present invention is directed to a device for expression of a hemostatic powder having an elongated reservoir with a manual air pump, such as a bellows, at a proximal end and an expression port at a distal end. A porous filter is slidably disposed within the elongated reservoir between the bellows, a plunger, and the expression port, and a spring is disposed within the elongated reservoir between the manual air pump and the plunger. The hemostatic powder is disposed within the elongated reservoir between the porous filter and the expression port, and the manual air pump is in a fluid communication with the expression port through the porous filter and through the hemostatic powder.

Hemostatic powder delivery devices and methods

Provided are methods and devices for dissolving solid protein compositions, such as solid compositions comprising fibrinogen, in an aqueous solvent. The methods comprise use of a closed container containing a volume of solid fibrinogen composition and a head space wherein the pressure within the headspace is sub-atmospheric. Aqueous solvent is introduced into the container while maintain the sub-atmospheric pressure, and subsequent to addition of the solvent, the size of the headspace is decreased to bring the pressure to atmospheric pressure. The devices are suitable for use in the disclosed method.

Method and device for fast dissolution of solid protein composition

A dispensing device configured to operate with an adhesive backed mesh and backing film for tissue bonding is disclosed. The dispensing device provides for low-friction, low force pay-out of a desired length of an adhesive backed mesh to a wound site. The device prevents or eliminates distortion of the mesh prior to application to the wound site, and includes means for reducing or eliminating binding during use. The dispensing device is configured to operate in a 'forward' mode (substrate to which mesh is applied passes beneath applicator after mesh is applied) to provide essentially an unobstructed view of the wound site during use.

The present invention is directed to a device for expression of a hemostatic powder having an elongated reservoir with a manual air pump, such as a bellows, at a proximal end and an expression port at a distal end. The present inventions are directed to spray tips for multidirectional or three-dimensional spraying of an unmixed two-part sealant and/or hemostat comprising a first biocompatible component and a biocompatible second component onto a tissue or wound comprising: a hollow body having inside a first component distribution compartment and a second component distribution compartment, said compartments not in fluid communication with each other. The first component can contain one or more biologic components, preferably fibrinogen and the second component can contain one or more biologic component different from the first biologic component, preferably thrombin and/or thrombin precursors. The present inventions are also directed to methods of spraying the unmixed two-part sealant or hemostat using the spray tip and associated components described above by simultaneously expressing the first component and the second component from the syringes.

The present invention is directed to a multi-compartment medical device for segregated storage and on demand mixing of at least two components and expression of the resulting mixture from the device. The mixing device comprises a syringe having an open end and outlet and containing a first component; and a cap with a fixed outer body and an expandable chamber contained therein, wherein said cap is removably attached to the outlet of the syringe and a cross-section of the cap is larger than a syringe cross-section and the cap is shorter than the syringe.
