An imaging cartridge installable in an image forming device. The image forming device includes a rotational driving member and at least one cartridge guide defining a guide path. The cartridge includes a first cartridge portion engageable with the at least one cartridge guide for movement along the guide path and a second cartridge portion coupled to the first cartridge portion. The second cartridge portion includes a drive receiving member configured for engagement with the rotational driving member and at least one of a drum unit assembly, a hopper, a developer roller, and a regulating blade. The second cartridge portion is moveable with respect to the first cartridge portion between a first position, in which the drive receiving member is not engageable with the rotational driving member, and a second position, in which the drive receiving member is engageable with the rotational driving member.

Imaging cartridge with shiftable imaging components

A modification for an imaging cartridge is provided for use with certain aftermarket or non-OEM cartridge drive mechanisms. At least one wall of a cartridge guiding member is removed to increase a clearance between the guiding member and the cartridge drive mechanism.

Process cartridge modification and method for retractable process cartridge drive

A drive receiving member for transferring rotational driving force from an image forming apparatus to components of an imaging cartridge is provided. A distal end of the member includes at least one substantially rigid drive lug for receiving rotational driving force from the imaging device. In some constructions the distal end also includes at least one catch member extending beyond the drive lug to facilitate movement of the coupling member from a retracted position to an extended position when the cartridge is installed in the imaging device. In other constructions, an actuator may be provided to initiate movement of the coupling member from the extended position to a retracted position during removal of the cartridge from the imaging device.

Drive receiving member for an imaging cartridge

A drivable projection for a toner cartridge drum gear includes an axially extending support portion having a plurality of axially extending edges and an end face. A plurality of substantially spherical engagement portions are supported by the support portion, and each engagement portion defines a center that may be substantially aligned with the end face and/or substantially aligned with a respective one of the plurality of axially extending edges. The engagement portions are configured to receive driving rotatable force from the drive mechanism of a printer.

Toner drum gear projection

A toner drum gear flange socket adapted for engagement with a force transmitting end of a drive shaft in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The socket includes a bottom wall and an outer cylindrical wall including an inner surface and defining a central axis. Circumferentially spaced apart curved base wall portions extend axially from the bottom wall. Each base wall portion includes an enlarged end portion that defines a radially inwardly extending projection. A leg wall portion extends radially from one end of each curved base wall portion. Each leg wall portion defines an elongated contact surface. The radially inwardly extending projections secure the force transmitting end of the drive shaft within the socket, and the elongated contact surfaces receive driving rotational force from the force transmitting end of the drive shaft.

Electrophotographic drum gear flange socket configurations

A recharged toner cartridge assembly is disclosed in which a sealing member is provided between the toner hopper and the feed roller compartment to prevent leakage of the recharged toner powder. In particular, the sealing member is fixed to the bottom surface of the feed roller compartment before the compartment is brought to engage with the toner hopper, thus avoiding any inadvertent messing of the toner powder in the toner hopper.

Seal for toner cartridge assembly

An apparatus for adapting a smaller toner cartridge for use in laser printers or copiers which otherwise accept and use only larger toner cartridges. The apparatus expands the width of the cartridge.
