Assistive apparatuses or devices, kits, and methods for assisting with removal of a biological sample from an intraosseous device are described. Some of the present assistive apparatuses comprise: a body including a first end and a second end, and defining a channel with a first portion having a first transverse dimension, a second portion disposed between the first portion and the second end and having a second transverse dimension that is smaller than the first transvers dimension, and a longitudinal axis extending through the first portion and the second portion, the body further including a protrusion extending laterally outward relative to the longitudinal axis; where the channel is configured to receive a portion of an intraosseous device having a hub and a cannula extending from the hub, with the first portion of the channel receiving a part of the hub, and the second portion of the channel receiving a part of the cannula while preventing passage of the hub through the second portion.

Assistive device for removing a biological sample from an intraosseous device, and related kits and methods

Disclosed herein are tissue scaffold materials with microspheres of one density embedded in hydrogel of a different density. The disclosed materials have improved ability to facilitate cellular invasion and vascularization for wound healing and tissue regeneration. The inventors have found that materials having components with different densities promotes invasion of cells, including desirable cells such as fibroblasts and endothelial precursor cells, into the scaffold.

Powered drivers () for inserting an intraosseous device () into a bone and associated bone marrow are disclosed. Some of the powered drivers () may include a housing () having a distal end () and a proximal end (); a motor () disposed in the housing (); a driveshaft () extending outward from the distal end () of the housing in a direction away from the proximal end (); a gearbox () coupled to the motor () and to the driveshaft () such that activation of the motor () causes the driveshaft () to rotate; and a power source () configured to power the motor (). A guard member () may be pivotably connected to the housing () and movable between a protective position and a non-protective position. The guard member () may be configured to cover the intraosseous () needle assembly in the protective position and to expose the intraosseous () needle assembly in the non-protective position. A biasing member () may be configured to urge the guard member () toward the non-protective position.

Powered intraosseous driver with protective member, and related kits, components, and methods

Powered drivers operable to insert an intraosseous device into a bone are disclosed. Some of the present powered drivers include a housing having a distal end and a proximal end. A driveshaft may be located near the distal end of the housing and configured to engage a portion of the intraosseous device. A motor may be disposed in the housing and operable to rotate the driveshaft. A power source may be disposed within the housing and configured to power the motor. The powered drivers may include a lockout operable to prevent activation of the driver for increased safety when handling the driver.

Powered driver actuated by force on driveshaft and related kits, components, and methods

An intraosseous needle set is provided for penetrating a target area. The intraosseous needle set includes a cannula having a first end, a second end, and a bore. The bore may accommodate an intraosseous device, such that the intraosseous device and the cannula are operable to penetrate the target area. The bore has a length extending from the second end of the cannula through the first end of the cannula. The bore has a first cross-section with a substantially constant diameter along a majority of the length and extends from the second end of the cannula toward the first end of the cannula. The bore has a second cross-section along a minority of the length and extends from the first end of the cannula toward the second end of the cannula. The second cross-section may have a different shape than the first cross-section.

Intraosseous device handles, systems, and methods

Powered drivers, and kits and methods including or using powered drivers, having a driveshaft extending from a distal end of the housing and configured to slide responsive to a force applied to a distal end of the driveshaft and activate a motor to rotate the driveshaft. Some of the present powered drivers include a housing having a distal end and a proximal end; a motor disposed in the housing; a driveshaft extending outward from the distal end of the housing (e.g., in a direction away from the proximal end); a gearbox coupled to the motor and to the driveshaft such that activation of the motor will cause rotation of the driveshaft; and a battery configured to power the motor; where the gearbox is slidably disposed in the housing and configured such that, upon application of a threshold force on the driveshaft in the direction of the proximal end of the housing, the driveshaft and gearbox will slide toward the proximal end of the housing and thereby close an electrical circuit between the motor and the battery.

An intraosseous needle set comprising a cannula is provided. The cannula has a first end, a second end, and a bore configured to receive a sample from a target area. The first end of the cannula is configured to penetrate the target area and has a plurality of teeth. The plurality of teeth may have at least one tooth that comprises a tapered surface. The plurality of teeth may each have a first side and a second side, where a length of the first side is less than a length of the second side. The first and second sides may intersect to define tips that are disposed at an angle between 0 and 30 degrees relative to a longitudinal axis of the cannula, and the first side of a first tooth and the second side of an adjacent tooth may also intersect at an angle between 55 and 80 degrees.

Intraosseous needle sets (e.g., cannulas and stylets) and kits comprising the same, such as those, for example, having a non-circular bore and configured to receive a sample from a target area (e.g., a cortex, a sternum, a humerus, and/or the like).

A trailer having an enclosed area with an integral toolbox is presented. The trailer includes a bulk tank with at least a first hopper and a second hopper. The first hopper has a first discharge port and the second hopper has a second discharge port. A discharge pipe is connected to the first and second discharge ports. A storage box is formed between and integral with the first hopper and the second hopper to define a storage chamber. A door is mounted on the storage box having open and close positions for respectively providing access to and blocking access to the storage chamber.
