A system and method for using a fuel with an engine, an airframe having an aircraft heat load, a fuel tank, and a fuel oxygen reduction unit are provided. The method includes receiving an inlet fuel flow in the fuel oxygen reduction unit for reducing an amount of oxygen in the inlet fuel flow; separating a fuel/gas mixture within the fuel oxygen reduction unit into an outlet gas flow and an outlet fuel flow exiting the fuel oxygen reduction unit; controlling a first portion of the outlet fuel flow to the engine; and controlling a second portion of the outlet fuel flow to the airframe to transfer heat between the second portion of the outlet fuel flow and the aircraft heat load.

Aircraft thermal transport system and method

A fuel oxygen reduction unit assembly for a fuel system is provided. The fuel oxygen reduction unit assembly includes: a fuel oxygen reduction unit located downstream from the fuel source and defining a stripping gas flowpath and a liquid fuel flowpath, the fuel oxygen reduction unit comprising a means for transferring an amount of oxygen from a liquid fuel flow through the liquid fuel flowpath to a gas flow through the stripping gas flowpath; and an oxygen conversion unit in flow communication with the stripping gas flowpath configured to extract a flow of oxygen from a gas flow through the stripping gas flowpath, the oxygen conversion unit defining an oxygen outlet configured to provide the extracted flow of oxygen to an external system.

Fuel delivery system having a fuel oxygen reduction unit

A method and system for a compartment baffle system are provided. The compartment baffle system includes a first baffle portion extending along an axial length of a casing, the first baffle portion extending radially outwardly from an outer surface of the casing and a second baffle portion extending at least partially radially outwardly from the first baffle portion. The second baffle portion further includes a radially inner edge supported by the first baffle portion and a radially outer edge extending proximate an inner surface of a radially outer cowl. The compartment baffle system also includes a gap extending between the radially outer edge and the inner surface.
