A translationally maneuverable trailer jack track system includes a frame having dual opposing inwardly facing elongated slotted sides. The frame is adapted to mount to a trailer frame between a ball coupler and a trailer. A carriage is mounted inside the frame with opposing side elements, each opposing side element bears on and is movably disposed within one of the dual opposing elongated slotted side elements, where the carriage has a centrally located jack collar and at least one threaded receiving element. A drive screw traverses the frame lengthwise and is threaded through the carriage threaded receiving element, where the drive screw is constrained on one end by a fastening device and has a drive cap on the other end.

Translationally maneuverable trailer jack track system

A lift chair includes a lift mechanism that maintains a continuous seating position during forward and elevated movement by supporting the occupant's seat, arms and back. The mobile section of the chair will also lower the occupant to the normal seating height. The gel cushion seating surface is attached at least to the moveable section of the lift chair. The gel cushion seating surface of the chair has a plurality of gel cushion cylinders arranged in a grid that provide a rhythmically changing support area at multiple points on the occupant's buttocks and thighs. This provides a comforting massage which reduces stress on the body associated with prolonged seating.

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for a combined battery/capacitor energy storage device. The device includes a first device terminal, a second device terminal, a battery connected between the first terminal and the second terminal, and a capacitor connected in parallel with the battery. In one aspect, a rectifier is connected between the first terminal and the capacitor, the rectifier configured to allow substantially unidirectional current flow from the first terminal to the capacitor. In another aspect, a switch is between the capacitor and the first terminal. In another aspect, a current limiter extends between the first terminal and the capacitor.

Ultracapacitor and battery combination with electronic management system

In an energy storage system that includes a battery and an ultracapacitor, the state of charge (SOC) of the capacitor is the subject of a dynamic set-point. This dynamic set-point control is a function of the load regime to which the storage system is exposed, for example a hybrid automobile or electric automobile. The control may be based in part upon real-time fast Fourier transform analysis of load current, permitting real-time adjustment of control coefficients. In this way, it is possible to minimize the occurrence of the capacitor being fully charged at a time when it would be desired to be able to absorb high current, for example from regenerative braking. Likewise it is possible to minimize the occurrence of the capacitor being nearly discharged at a time when it would be desirable to have boost power available. A result is that even a relatively small ultracapacitor (having perhaps one two-hundredth the energy storage capacity of the battery) can permit greatly reducing waste heat dissipated in the battery, and can reduce otherwise unnecessary cycling of current into and out of the battery. This can extend battery life and battery performance.

Energy storage systems and methods

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for managing a capacitor system. In one aspect, an energy storage system includes a capacitor system, a charging circuit, and a controller. The capacitor system includes one or more capacitors. The charging circuit is configured to charge the capacitor system to a first target voltage. The controller is configured to detect a first condition and is programmed, in response to the first condition, to instruct the charging circuit to charge the capacitor system to a second target voltage that is less than the first target voltage. The controller is programmed to provide a notification that the capacitor system is operating in a degraded state.

System and methods for managing a degraded state of a capacitor system

A training device includes a plate assembly pivotally connected to a support member. The plate assembly includes an angled top plate that is removably mounted onto a flat balance plate. The support member includes a rectangular mounting bracket that is transversely disposed across an enlarged base, the balance plate directly teetering on the mounting bracket. In use, the training device can be used to train a hitter to maximize lower body power using sensory and auditory feedback. Specifically, the hitter centers his rear foot on the angled top plate which promotes weight loading on the inner portion of the rear leg. The hitter then initiates the hitting process by driving the lower body forward until the balance plate pivots forward and strikes the base, thereby providing the user with audible and tactile response. This lower body drive creates significant momentum that powers rotation of the bat through the hitting zone.

Training device and method of using the same

An energy-storage device electrode core is disclosed that features relatively low-inductive impedance (and thus low equivalent series resistance (ESR)). Also disclosed is an energy-storage device electrode core that features a radii-modulated electrode core that forms extra vias to facilitate efficient heat removal away from the electrode, thus improving the performance and capabilities of an energy-storage device so equipped. The internal electrode core heat-removal vias are defined by the modulation patterns that in turn define the size and layout of the folds in the electrode, which are circumferentially collapsed about the center axis of the electrode core.

Low-inductive impedance, thermally decoupled, radii-modulated electrode core

A golf training system includes a stationary front foot support, a pivotable rear foot support and a raised ball support. The pivotable rear foot support includes a rectangular mounting bracket transversely disposed across an enlarged base and a flat balance plate that directly teeters on the mounting bracket. In use, the golf training system can be used to promote proper weight distribution throughout a golf swing using sensory and auditory feedback. Specifically, the golfer disposes the rear foot on top of the balance plate and the front foot across the stationary front foot support with body weight maintained on the inner portion of the rear leg throughout the backswing. The golfer initiates the downswing by firing the hips open and driving the lower body forward until the balance plate pivots and strikes the base, thereby providing the user with immediate audible and tactile response of proper execution.

Training system and method of using the same

A softball training device includes a plate assembly pivotally connected to a support member. The plate assembly includes a flat, circular balance plate and a downwardly protruding kick stand formed on its rear end. The support member includes an enlarged base and rectangular mounting bracket transversely disposed on the base, the balance plate directly teetering on the mounting bracket. In use, the training device can be used to train a hitter to maximize lower power drive. Specifically, the hitter centers her rear foot on the balance plate and positions her other foot in front of the device. The hitter then loads her weight rearward, the kick stand keeping the balance plate horizontal. The hitter finally transfers her weight forward through accelerated hip and torso rotation so that the balance plate pivots forward and strikes the base to create an audible signal. With hips and torso initiating the forward movement, the arms are similarly pulled forward so the bat travels through the hitting zone.

The air charger system provided is configured to provide an air supply to a pressurized water storage system without the use of external power. The system includes a venturi vented to the ambient atmosphere, such that the venturi siphons air from the ambient atmosphere when the venturi reaches a choked flow condition, and the system stores the siphoned air in a charging tank to supply a water storage tank. In various embodiments, the air charger system conserves energy because the use of external power is eliminated. Instead of using a traditional air compressor, the air charger systems converts the potential energy of water in a storage tank to kinetic energy in order to pressurize air in a charging tank. In addition, the air charger system also achieves greater energy conservation with the elimination of an air compressor, such that the system requires less repair and maintenance than a traditional system.

Powerless air charging apparatus, system, and method

A training device for throwing a baseball includes a plate assembly that is pivotally connected to a support member. The plate assembly includes a flat, rectangular balance plate and a sleeve disposed transversely across the bottom surface of the balance plate. The support member includes an elongated support arm on which the sleeve is adapted to teeter and a generally T-shaped strike plate connected to the support arm. In use, the training device can be used in the following manner to train a pitcher to exert maximum rear leg drive while throwing a baseball. Specifically, the training device is disposed on a flat, level flooring surface such that the plate assembly teeters on the support member. The pitcher then centers his rear foot on the balance plate and lifts his front knee. At this time, the pitcher drives his rear knee forward until the balance plate pivots forward and contacts the strike plate which in turn generates an audible signal. With the majority of the body weight of the pitcher displaced behind his rear knee, the pitcher begins his delivery. Because the pitcher is able to use the majority of his body weight to power his delivery, the pitcher is able to throw the baseball with greater velocity and with less strain exerted on his pitching arm.
