The present invention is an apparatus and method for associating electronic devices to portable containers. A smart container is a container used for transporting items while traveling and comprising electronic devices. The smart container may comprise at least one module bay configured for receiving a module and a controller comprising a processing device associated with a memory. The controller is electrically associated with the module bay and configured for sending and/or receiving data to/from an electronic device associated with the module bay. The controller may be either an integral component of the smart container or a controller module removably received by the smart container. The smart container further comprises a power source associated with a power bus. The power bus is electrically associated with at least one of (a) a module bay, and (b) the controller.

A modified asphalt Contactor reactor for blending and reacting asphalt cement and modifiers is described; for example, a vertically oriented vessel having an outer shell having an internal surface and an external surface, a lower end and a flat flanged top; an internal circulation tube having a base, a top and an outside surface, wherein the outside surface of the internal circulation tube and the internal surface of the outer shell forms an annulus; a heating jacket having heating oil inlet and a heating oil outlet coupled to the external surface of the outer shell for circulation of heating oil; and a hydraulic head assembly having an impeller coupled to the lower end the vertically oriented vessel wherein the impeller is located near the base of the internal circulation tube, wherein the impeller and the annulus are of sufficient size to facilitate the flow of high viscosity fluids.

Asphalt reactor and blending system

The invention relates to a meter box for housing a utility meter and configured for associating a customer service line to a utility service line. The meter box may be configured to fit within an existing meter box and may be configured with side sections in a telescopic arrangement. Flow control components at an input of the meter box prevent backflow. The meter box comprises an electronic module that includes a variety of selectable features including datalogging, AMR, environmental monitoring, and resource monitoring. A remote monitor is provided for allowing a customer to view selected data including consumption data, pressure, pH, temperature, warnings, remote turnoff, and provide secured bill paying services. Imaging/audio components provide visual and audio data which may include an image of an analog readout for a meter register, images of the metering environment, and sound data for metering environment.

Configurable smart utility meter box

An apparatus and method for cleaning metal debris from a magnetic tool (some tools of which have magnetic properties) is disclosed. For one embodiment, the magnetic cleaner comprises a magnetic element suitably sized to interface with a surface of a tool associated with metal debris. A housing comprising a magnetic interface constructed of magnetically transparent material surrounds the magnetic element wherein the remainder of the housing is optionally constructed from material that forms a magnetic barrier. The magnetic element may be movably associated with the housing allowing the magnetic element to be associated/disassociated with the housing magnetic interface.

Magnetic tool cleaner

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for improved check valve technology used in flow meters, particularly compound/combo meters. The improved check valve technology may be comprised in a single piece module that (1) can easily be removed from the meter without disturbing the metering module, (2) has few or no complicated rollers and pins that require calibration, (3) requires little or no special training to remove, (4) does not require the meter repairperson to move relatively heavy objects, (5) comprises a seal as part of the check valve assembly simplifying seal inspection, seal removal and seal replacement; and (6) is secured in its housing using only external fasteners. The check valve module further comprises fluid hammer relief features.

A single use needless syringe for administering a fluid medication. The syringe comprises a hollow, tubular body which includes a gas storage portion defining a storage chamber containing a quantity of pressurized gas. The body also includes an ejector portion defining a piston chamber which is selectively placeable into fluid communication with the storage chamber and has a piston movably disposed therein. In addition to the gas storage and ejector portions, the body has a barrel portion defining a delivery chamber for receiving a prescribed dosage of the fluid medication, with the delivery chamber being oriented relative to the piston chamber such that the piston is advanceable into the delivery chamber. A discharge orifice of the body fluidly communicates with the delivery chamber and allows the fluid medication to be filled thereinto and expelled therefrom. The syringe further comprises a fracturable release member which is disposed within the body and normally prevents the flow of the compressed gas from the storage chamber into the piston chamber. Removably attachable to the body is a trigger mechanism of the syringe which includes a stem portion partially insertable into the body and engagable to the release member, and a head portion attached to the stem portion. The application of compressive pressure to the head portion subsequent to the insertion of the stem portion into the body facilitates the fracture of the release member and resultant flow of the pressurized gas into the piston chamber. The compressed gas acts against the piston in a manner forcing the piston into the delivery chamber which causes the fluid medication to be expelled therefrom via the discharge orifice.

Needleless syringe

A compact sunscreen and lotion applicator for applying lotions and creams to the body which comprises upper and lower structures, folding upon each other, joined together by a locking hinge when open or closed. The upper structure consists of a spare absorbent pad with base, secured with holders, and the lower structure having the main absorbent pad, secured with another set of holders for use to apply lotions and creams. A cord and a hook is provided to carry away, and a snap lock for the closure is provided. Overlap seal around upper and lower structures is provided to protect from accidental leakage in bags and luggage. A tong is provided to remove oily absorbent pads. A watch, a coin compartment and a mirror are also provided.

Sunscreen and lotion applicator

A sensor (20) is mounted on a fixed torque box (8) carried by a fixed portion of an engine nacelle (6). A target plate (40) is resiliently mounted on a thrust reverser translating cowl (10). A cylindrical sleeve (32) is attached to the sensor (20) and surrounds its outer sensing end (22). The outer radial surface (34) of the sleeve (32) is spaced beyond the sensing end (22) a predetermined distance (100). The surface (34) contacts the target plate (40) when the cowl (10) is in its closed position. The resilient mounting of the plate (40) compensates for inaccuracies in the installation of the plate (40) and allows relative movement between the cowl (10) and the plate (40) when the cowl (10) is in its closed position to maintain a fixed gap (100) between the plate (40) and the sensor (20).
