In some aspects, the techniques described herein relate to a method including: determining a series of predetermined phases for wireless signals to be used in location calculations for a station device accessing a wireless access point; reflecting wireless signals from the wireless access point off of an intelligent reflecting surface to the station device; and controlling the intelligent reflecting surface such that a series of the wireless signals are reflected off of the intelligent reflecting surface with the predetermined phases.

A system and methods by which a reconfigurable intelligent surface device is dynamically configured to control the reflection of transmissions made between an access point and one or more client devices so as to protect the transmissions from being properly received by an unauthorized device. These methods may be used to maintain data confidentiality, particularly for remote workers. The positions of the access point and client devices are used to configure the reconfigurable intelligent surface device to reflect the transmissions inward and avoid/minimize leakage outside a physical space.

Application-based Transmission Opportunity (TXOP) sharing may be provided. First, a sharing AP may receive a request to share TXOPs with a requesting AP. The request may include information associated with an application executing on a client serviced by the requesting AP. Next, a TXOP duration for the requesting AP may be reserved based on the information associated with the application such that, in response to winning contention on the medium, the sharing AP may share a TXOP with the requesting AP for the TXOP duration.

Techniques herein facilitate dynamic configuration of a wireless local area network (WLAN) for large public venue (LPV) environments. In one example, a method may include providing an initial configuration for access points APs of a WLAN for an event at an LPV based on a profile for the event, a location of each AP for the venue, and anticipated demand at the APs; determining, for a particular time for the event, a distribution of wireless devices and channel support capabilities of the wireless devices different locations for the LPV; and providing an updated configuration for one or more APs at the one or more locations for the venue based on the distribution of the wireless devices and the channel support capabilities of the wireless devices determined for the particular time for the event at the LPV.

Dynamic wireless local area network configuration in large public venue environments

A method, computer system, and computer program product are provided for prioritizing network traffic. An indication is received at a network controller that an alarm is activated at a physical site. A request is received from a user device to join a network at the physical site that is under control of the network controller, wherein the request includes a flag indicating an identity of a user of the user device and a priority status of the user. In response to authenticating the identity of the user via an identity provider server, the user device is authorized to join the network. Based on verifying the priority status of the user using the flag and authentication via the identity provider server, network traffic for the user device is prioritized.

Techniques for beamforming from wireless stations (STAs) are disclosed. These techniques include identifying a plurality of STAs for a beamforming group, for transmission to a wireless access point (AP). The techniques further include receiving, at the AP, first data transmitted from each of the plurality of STAs in the beamforming group to the AP at least partially at the same time, wherein the transmitting the first data from each of the plurality of STAs results in constructive interference between the transmissions from the plurality of STAs to the AP, and wherein the same first data is received from each of the plurality of STAs in the beamforming group.

Techniques for identifying a trusted SSID for a wireless network are disclosed. Prior to establishing a connection with a wireless network, a first network message is received from a first access point (AP) identifying a first service set identifier (SSID) associated with a first wireless network, a second network message is received from a second AP identifying a second SSID associated with a second wireless network, and a visual similarity is determined between a first visual representation of the first SSID and a second visual representation of the second SSID. The second SSID is designated as suspicious based on the determined visual similarity.

The present disclosure is directed to simultaneous channel sounding on multiple MLO channels followed by determining phase and amplitude corrections based on channel impulse responses obtained on each MLO channel. The corrections are then used in subsequent extrapolation of channel sounding on one channel to another. In one aspect, a method includes transmitting, on each radio interface of a first multi-link device, a corresponding sounding probe to a second multi-link device; determining, by each radio interface of the first multi-link device, a corresponding channel impulse response based on the corresponding sound probe to yield a plurality of channel impulse responses; determining an offset between the plurality of channel impulse responses; and using the offset during a subsequent extrapolation of a sounding probe on one radio interface to a second radio interface of the first multi-link device.

Access Point ranging and placement on a floorplan may be provided. A host AP may range each neighbor AP of the host AP. One or more neighbor APs that failed ranging with the host AP may be categorized in a failed neighbor AP list. The host AP may re-range each of the one or more neighbor APs in the failed neighbor AP list with a modified ranging parameter. At least one neighbor AP of the one or more neighbor APs may be categorized in the failed neighbor AP list that succeeded in re-ranging with the host AP in an extended range neighbor AP list.

Methods are provided in which a network device hosts distinct network access resources that are managed by different entities. The method includes obtaining a request for partitioning one or more network resources of an on-premise network device for connecting one or more endpoints to a first network managed by a first entity. The on-premise network device connects one or more endpoints to a second network managed by a different entity. The method further involves partitioning, based on the request, the one or more network resources and connecting the one or more endpoints to the first network using the one or more network resources. The one or more network resources are managed by the first entity while at least one other network resource of the on-premise network device is managed by the different entity and is associated with connecting the one or more endpoints to the second network.

This technology allows for determining the location of client devices via radio scanning for triggered orthogonal frequency-division multiple access ('OFDMA') uplinks. Access points (“APs”) are configured for OFDMA transmissions. A first AP transmits a trigger frame on particular channel to stations in the wireless network. Neighboring APs scan channels for trigger frames (“TF”). Upon detection of a TF, neighboring APs associate a station identifier with a frequency allocation, or resource unit, in the TF. The neighboring APs receive an OFDMA uplink from the stations, determine a received signal strength indicator (“RSSI”) value for each frequency allocation in the OFDMA uplink, and transmit the RSSI values with the associated station identifier to the first AP. The first AP determines the location of each station by mapping a distance value to the RSSI values.

Techniques for wireless network management are provided. A set of characteristics data for a plurality of different wireless networks in a common physical space is collected, and it is determined, based on the set of characteristics data, that the plurality of wireless networks are experiencing spectrum contention. A set of radio frequency (RF) parameter modifications is generated based on the set of characteristics data, and one or more of the plurality of wireless networks are instructed to implement the set of RF parameter modifications. A second set of characteristics data is collected for the plurality of wireless networks.

A method for calibrating a magnetometer of a device is provided. The method includes collecting, with a portable calibration device having a magnetometer, magnetic field measurements in a spatial region about a mounting location where the device is to be installed for operation, estimating magnetometer compensation parameters to correct for magnetic field distortion at the mounting location based on the magnetic field measurements collected by the portable calibration device, and configuring the device installed at the mounting location based on the magnetometer compensation parameters.

Embodiments herein describe mounting one or more lasers onto an AP to generate a laser pattern on a surface representing the coverage area of an antenna in the AP. In one embodiment, the antenna is a steerable antenna that can be electronically or mechanical steered to point to different directions (without moving the AP as a whole). The laser or lasers can be used to visualize the coverage area of the steerable antenna when pointing in different directions. Advantageously, a technician can use the laser or lasers to identify a location where, if steered, the antenna would provide the desired coverage area. The technician can then steer the antenna to point in that direction to provide the desired radio frequency (RF) coverage.

Presented herein are techniques to shield transmissions from being received and the information contained in them recovered by unwanted devices. Multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) techniques are employed, and in particular the spatial dimension aspects of those techniques. Shield nodes are controlled to transmit in a way to obscure the downlink streams transmitted by a wireless access point that are intended for a particular client device to anything outside of the shielded area, and also to obscure uplink streams from one or more client devices to the wireless access point to anything outside of the shielded area but allowing the uplink streams to be well received by the wireless access point.
