A remote control device testing environment evaluates operational performance of physical implementations of remote control devices. This operational performance of the physical implementations of the remote control devices allows the integrated circuits of the remote control devices as well as integrated circuit interfaces electrically coupling these integrated circuits to each other to be evaluated. Additionally, the interconnection, such as electrical coupling to provide an example, between these integrated circuits and/or the integrated circuit interfaces can be evaluated which otherwise would not be evaluated by software simulation alone. Moreover, the evaluating of this operational performance of the physical implementations of the remote control devices allows these remote control devices to be in evaluated in a real world environment with exposure to various environmental factors, such as temperature, humidity, and/or electromagnetic interference to provide some examples. Furthermore, the evaluating of this operational performance of the physical implementations of the remote control devices allows interactions between these remote control devices and other electronic devices to be evaluated.

A method, system, and computer program product to provide a synthetic device ID for a device is provided herein. The method includes receiving a request from the device to obtain a service from a vendor, where the device is associated with an internal device ID. The method further includes generating the synthetic device ID for the device and associating the device, the internal device ID, the vendor, and the synthetic device ID. The method also includes transmitting the synthetic device ID to the vendor, and internally tracking the request based on the association.

The present disclosure describes a communication environment having a service provider server that receives an audio command from a display control device within the communication environment. The service provider server can translate this audio command into an electrical command for controlling the display device. The service provider server autonomously performs a specifically tailored search of a catalog of command words and/or phrases for the audio command to translate the audio command to the electrical command. This specifically tailored search can include one or more searching routines having various degrees of complexity. The most simplistic searching routine from among these searching routines represents a textual search to identify one or more command words and/or phrases from the catalog of command words and/or phrases that match the audio command. The one or more searching routines can include more complex searching routines, such as a keyword search and/or a natural language search, of the catalog of command words and/or phrases to identify one or more command words and/or phrases from the catalog of command words and/or phrases that match the audio command.

Embodiments include a system and method for a real-time distributed Transport Stream (TS) analysis that utilizes many parts of an available network to concurrently monitor TSs across a geographic region. Embodiments include the selection of a profile for each combination of a TS and a collection point where the profile includes one or more sets of acceptable transmission values or ranges associated with the combination. The profile may include for example, program service information tables, service information, TS transmission parameters, and/or general TS quality index analysis rules. Embodiments include real-time concurrent monitoring and analysis of multiple TSs from collection points distributed throughout the geographic region. As services associated with the TSs at different collection points evolve, the respective profiles and rules adapt accordingly to maintain the quality of service and performance associated with respective TS and collection point combinations.

The present disclosure describes an autonomous mechanism for implementing a flexible image repository that includes an image retrieval service and an image repository management application. The flexible image repository performs delta processing to provide a subset of stored images to a subscriber device when the image retrieval service receives an image update request. The subscriber device thus receives updates to the image repository in a manner that reduces bandwidth requirements at both the server and the client, allowing client-side images to be updated more frequently. A content manager may update the flexible image repository via the image repository management application, which tags images according to a naming convention prior to inserting the images in the image repository. Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for interrogating and remediating a device. For example, a method includes: transmitting instructions from a headend device to a plurality of remote devices, the instructions being for diagnosing a status of each of the plurality of devices; based on responses from the plurality of remote devices, identifying a set of remote devices from among the plurality of remote devices requiring remediation; categorizing each remote device of the set of remote devices into one of a plurality of categories based on a connectivity status between each remote device and the headend device; and assigning, for each of the plurality of categories, a respective number of connections for remediating the set of remote devices.

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for real-time enablement of over-the-top media service applications. An embodiment operates by receiving a device identifier from a customer device including a disabled third-party over-the-top (OTT) application, determining a verification status of the customer device based on the device identifier, determining a customer identifier associated with the customer device, and determining an entitlement status based on the customer identifier. The embodiment further operates by assigning a vendor-issued identifier to the customer identifier, generating a third-party token based on the verification status and the entitlement status, and sending the third-party token to the customer device and a third-party service associated with the disabled third-party OTT application. In some embodiments, the customer device and the third-party service may perform a handshake using the third-party token to enable the disabled OTT third-party application on the customer device.

The method includes storing an exclusive first transcoded copy of a program in a first configuration for a first user along with multiple shared transcoded copies in respective multiple configurations. The method includes receiving a request from the first user to view the program, streaming the first transcoded copy, determining based on one or more criteria whether the first transcoded copy is supported, and continuing to stream the first transcoded copy or switching to a second transcoded copy from the multiple transcoded copies based on the criteria.
