A high performance motorcycle having a frame, engine suspension, and rear wheel drive system that enables rider foot positioning close to the longitudinal centerline of the motorcycle and an overall aerodynamic profile. The engine suspension, centering and damping system allows for lateral movement while damping vibration and unwanted oscillations. The rear wheel drive includes a driven pulley axially disposed on a rear wheel axle, a drive pulley configured to receive motive output from the motorcycle engine, an idler pulley disposed above a line between the axes of rotation of the drive pulley and the rear wheel axle, and a belt or chain disposed around and operatively connecting the drive pulley, the driven pulley and the idler pulley, wherein the idler pulley and the drive pulley configured so as to provide substantially constant tension to a belt or chain over the range of travel of the rear suspension.

High performance motorcycle

An ergonomic chair with an auto-adjusting headrest having a base assembly including floor base, a seat bottom, and vertical structure. A seat back frame and back plate are pivotally attached to the base assembly. An arc-shaped guide bar and head rest restraint are slideably disposed on the back plate. such that the back plate slides approximately parallel to the seat back frame. Arc shaped guide bar rotates as the seat back is tilted rearward and forward.

Auto-adjusting headrest for an ergonomic chair

An ergonomic workstation that includes a base; an effective hip axis affixed to the base; a seat bottom that rotates about the effective hip axis; a seat back that rotates about the effective hip axis; an effective shoulder axis positionally fixed to the seat back; an effective elbow axis positionally fixed to the seat back; a monitor support having a monitor mount that rotates about the shoulder axis; and an input device tray support configured such that an input device tray on the support rotates about the elbow axis. As the workstation moves through a broad range of operational zones, it maintains a fixed eye-to-monitor distance and fixed angle between the user's head and the monitor throughout a significant portion of the range of motion, and a fixed distance from the user's elbow to an input device throughout the entire range of motion.

Ergonomic chair

An apparatus for the focusing of incident light includes a base assembly that is adapted to support a primary mirror. The primary mirror includes an outside circumference and an inside aperture. An upright member is attached to the base assembly at a first end thereof at a first location that is disposed inside the aperture and at a second location that is disposed outside the primary mirror. The upright member includes a second end that is distally disposed with respect to the first end. The second end is adapted to receive a turret that includes a secondary mirror and is adapted to pivot between two positions. An IMU is attached to the base assembly proximate the primary mirror.

Structure for supporting an optical telescope

An apparatus for enhanced viewing of objects in two separate simultaneous frequency bands of light that is constructed in accordance with the principles of the present invention includes a primary mirror and a moveable secondary mirror that is disposed above the primary mirror to provide a long focal length. A beam splitter splits the optical path into two paths, one for infrared and another path for visible. Various optical elements and devices are described along each path. The secondary mirror is displaced away from its concentric position over the primary mirror to provide shorter focal lengths in IR and visible. Focal Plane Arrays (FPA's) are disposed where desired along both optical paths for real-time viewing and data acquisition. The preferred FPA in visible is a CCD. The preferred FPA in IR is disposed in a Dewar.

Optical telescope

An apparatus for the control and alignment of a sensor on a moving vehicle is provided that includes a gimbal ball supported by an outer axis structure and adapted to pivot about an outer elevation axis and about an outer azimuth axis. The outer axis structure is mounted to a vehicle. An inner axis structure includes a cardan shaft that is provided in the ball and is used to support a payload. An inner elevation axis passes through the cardan shaft. The payload is moved about inner pitch inner roll and inner yaw axes over a limited range of motion by the use of a plurality of permanent magnet wide-gap motors that are disposed on the plane of the cardan shaft and maximally away from the yaw axis in the ball. The motors are adapted to each urge the payload to move in two perpendicular axes, depending upon the current that is applied through conductors which pass through a flux field. Control circuitry is used to energize the motors in any desired combination to produce motion in roll, pitch, or yaw.

Cross plane wide-gap motor system for gimbal

A novel design concept for a torquer motor is useful for stabilizing apparatuses in a vibrating structure. According to one aspect, a novel design for a coil pair is provided. A first coil in the pair is box shaped with a hollow interior portion and windings provided on a surface opposite the hollow interior. A second coil in the coil pair is flat and torus shaped with windings provided on the surface. According to one example, the second coil is bent so as to conform to the shape of the first coil, and disposed over the first coil so that the respective windings are oriented orthogonally to each other in a common plane direction so as to define an active area. The active area may be further disposed in the magnetic field of a magnet pair in a torquer motor application. The design provides advantages such as inherent rigidity and more efficient heat transfer, while providing high torque or a desired range of movement. Alternative designs consistent with the above approach are disclosed, which provide similar advantages over the prior art.
