Cooking assemblies, such as cooktop appliances, including methods of operation thereof, are provided. A method of operating a cooktop appliance may include receiving a mode selection signal from a user interface of the cooktop appliance. The method may also include receiving a utensil signal from a cooking utensil positioned on a primary heating element and restricting heat generation at a secondary heating element or transmitting a notification signal.

Cooking assembly and methods for protecting utensils thereon

An oven appliance includes a cabinet that defines a chamber. A pair of doors is rotatably mounted to provide selective access to the chamber of the cabinet. The pair of doors is connected with a linkage assembly such that the doors rotate open and closed simultaneously. The linkage assembly includes a spur gear that engages another gear of the linkage assembly. The spur gear can hinder unwanted rotation of the pair of doors or compress the pair of doors against a seal.

Oven appliance with dual opening and closing doors

An oven appliance with a cabinet that defines a chamber for cooking food items is provided. A pair of doors is rotatably mounted to provide selective access to the chamber of the cabinet. The pair of doors is connected with a linkage assembly that simultaneously opens and closes the pair of doors. The linkage includes features for rotating one door of the pair at a first angular velocity and for rotating another of the pair of doors at a second angular velocity. An angular velocity differential between the first angular velocity and the second angular velocity can limit impacting or rubbing between the pair of doors during simultaneous opening and closing of the pair of doors.

The present subject matter provides an oven appliance. The oven appliance includes a cabinet that defines a chamber. A pair of doors is rotatably mounted to provide selective access to the chamber of the cabinet. A linkage assembly connects the doors of the pair of doors such that the doors rotate open and closed simultaneously. The linkage assembly includes a pair of gears that transfer rotational motion of one door to another door of the pair of doors.

An improved system for control of a gas oven appliance is provided. A valve provides for control of the flow of gas to the burner. After preheating the oven, the valve is cycled between high and low (or zero) gas flow rates at frequency that provides the overall desired heating rate of the cooking chamber during cooking operations. A variety of valve types may be used including proportional types and predetermined set point types (e.g., high-low, high-medium-low, or on-off). During cooking operations, between periods of cycling, the valve is at least partially closed (e.g., set to a lower gas flow rate or an off state).

System for gas oven control

An oven appliance is provided. The oven appliance includes a pair of doors. Each door of the pair of doors includes an outer door panel and an inner door panel. The outer and inner door panels are spaced apart from each other along at least one edge of the door such that the inner and outer door panels define a thermal break therebetween. The thermal break can assist with limiting or hindering heat transfer between the inner and outer door panels.

A pair of sprockets or gears, a pair of chains, and a pair of connecting members couple the doors to each other such that the doors open and close simultaneously. The oven appliance also includes features for limiting or eliminating contact between the connecting members at a location where the connecting members cross each other.

An oven appliance is provided. The oven appliance includes a pair of doors and a pair of flanges. Each flange of the pair of flanges is mounted to a respective one of the pair of doors. The flanges engage and overlap each other when the pair of doors is in a closed position and include features for limiting wear between the flanges.

A coupling assembly includes a keyed coupling configured to couple to a valve stem and a plate configured to couple to a knob. The keyed coupling includes a projection having a cross-sectional shape. The plate includes a keyed slot defined therethrough. The keyed slot is shaped to correspond to the cross-sectional shape of the projection to receive at least a portion of the projection when the plate is coupled to the valve stem.
