Systems and methods are provided for securement of parts. One embodiment is a method for securing a part during fabrication. The method includes forming an interference fit between a pin and a wall defining a hole, supporting a weight of the part with the interference fit, and rotating the part around an axis of the part while the weight of the part is supported.

Method for securing a part during fabrication

Disclosed herein is a non-destructive inspection system. The non-destructive inspection system comprises a motion platform and a tool assembly. The tool assembly is coupled to the motion platform such that the tool assembly is movable relative to the motion platform. The tool assembly comprises an inspection tool assembly that comprises a base structure coupled to the tool assembly and a plurality of probe assemblies coupled to the base structure. Each probe assembly comprises a first linear actuator and a probe, different from the probe of any other one of the plurality of probe assemblies, for inspecting a different structural feature of a structure. Each probe is moveable, along a first axis relative to another one of the probes and substantially perpendicular to the base structure, using the first linear actuator of the corresponding one of the plurality of probe assemblies.

Multi-probe non-destructive inspection system

A cleaning tool system has a central body and a fore body extending from the central body and having a peripheral contour shaped to be closely received in an enclosed channel. The fore body has orifices to dispense a cleaning medium. A connection boss in the central body is configured to receive a supply line for the cleaning medium. A plurality of stabilizers each extend from the central body radially relative to a longitudinal axis to engage surfaces of the channel. A loop hook in the fore body is configured to attach a draw line to pull the fore body and central body through the channel along the longitudinal axis.

Wash and dry tool for enclosed channels and method for use

Methods and devices of fabricating a stringer for a vehicle. The stringer can be constructed from two charges that are formed together into the stringer. During fabricating, the ends of the charges can be formed in a die cavity. When the ends are misaligned in the die cavity, one of the charges can be moved in the die cavity to align the ends. The device used for fabricating the charges can include a punch with separate punch plates that move the ends of the charges into the die cavity. The punch plates can be separately moved to adjust the position of the charges and align the ends.

Method and apparatus of modular punch forming plates for alignment of a stringer for a vehicle

Methods of manufacturing a panel for a vehicle that includes forming a stringer from separate charges. The method can include positioning a forming sheet between the charges that are aligned in an overlapping arrangement. The charges can be held together and the forming sheet can be used to separate the ends of the charges to form flanges that extend outward from a blade. While still secured together, the formed stringer can be moved to a panel and positioned with the flanges contacting against the panel. Filler material can be positioned in an opening formed between the ends of the flanges.

Provided are stiffened stringer panels with integrated indexing stacks. An example composite panel comprises a skin member having an inner surface. An index for positioning a support tool comprises a first set and second set of layered laminate stacks coupled to the inner surface such that a channel is formed between the first and second set of layered laminate stacks. The first and second set of layered laminate stacks is configured to cradle a support tool in the channel to automatically align the support tool relative to the panel. A stringer may include a cap portion that extends from the first set to the second set of layered laminate stacks to form flange portions on the inner surface of the skin member. The index and the skin member may be co-cured or co-bonded.
