One example includes an antenna system. The antenna system includes a plurality of printed boards arranged in layers and including a first printed board and a second printed board. The first printed board includes a resonator and the second printed board includes a shield. The antenna system also includes at least one conductive via that extends through each of the plurality of printed boards and is coupled to a transceiver. The at least one conductive via can cooperate with the resonator to at least one of transmit a wireless signal from the transceiver via the antenna system or receive the wireless signal at the transceiver via the antenna system.

An exemplary embodiment of a low noise amplifier has integral noise cancellation to provide a low noise figure and operation over a frequency range of 40 GHz-60 GHz. An amplifier amplifies an input signal as well as noise present with the amplified signal and amplified noise being out of phase and in phase, respectively, with the corresponding inputs. An auxiliary amplifier amplifies the same inputs and generates an amplified signal and amplified noise both being out of phase relative to the inputs. A summation circuit combines all of these amplified signals with the noise being cancelled since the auxiliary amplifier provides the same amount of amplification as the amplifier and the amplified noise signals being summed are 180 degrees out of phase to each other. Preferably, the amplifier, auxiliary amplifier and the summation device utilize CMOS transistors disposed on an SOI substrate with impedance stabilization over the frequency range.

Low noise amplifier with noise cancellation

A method and system of symbol measurement and combining (SMaC) provides near-optimal performance for each user independently by relying on rapid digital beamforming with near-ideal convergence properties. This approach is also provides near-ideal performance without any knowledge of user/jammer location and adapts instantly as those locations change. An iterative joint estimation method is used to determine a covariance matrix R, and a user beamsteering vector, &#x3b1;.

Method and apparatus for symbol measurement and combining

A method and apparatus in one example uses adaptive digital beamforming with a plurality of heterogeneous antennas which are more affordable and flexible and do not require the use of a nuller antenna. The method uses adaptive, multi-beam digital beamforming without knowledge of a signal direction or aperture of the antena. The method works with arbitrary antenna elements in arbitrary locations and does not require any a priori antenna model. The method also optimizes signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the received signal.

Array adaptive beamforming for a large, arbitrary, sparse array

An antenna nulling system (28) for nulling a jamming signal having a multibeam antenna (48), a correlator (72), and antenna pattern calculator (94), a sequential updater (90) and a beamformer (70) is provided. The multibeam antenna (48) includes a plurality of antenna elements (50) and is operable to receive the plurality of signals. The correlator (72) is operable to receive at least one sample signal from one of the antenna elements (50) and a composite signal from the plurality of antenna elements (50). The correlator (72) determines a cross-correlation of the sample signal and the composite signal. The antenna pattern calculator (94) calculates a difference in pattern magnitude of an adapted antenna pattern and a quiescent antenna pattern of the multibeam antenna (48). The sequential updater (90) sequentially calculates a new weight for each of the antenna elements (50) based upon an existing weight of each antenna element (50), the cross-correlation and the difference in pattern magnitude. The beamformer (70) is in communication with the multibeam antenna (48) and the sequential updater (90) to combine a new weight for each of the antenna elements (50) with the plurality of signals received from the multibeam antenna (48) to null the jamming signal.
