Dry powder inhaler and system for drug delivery

A sweetener composition includes a plurality of assembled particles including natural, non-nutritive sweetener molecules, organic scaffold particles and at least one additive. The natural, non-nutritive sweetener molecules include hydrophilic moieties and hydrophobic moieties. The organic scaffold particles include at least one compositional component including a lipid. The at least one additive includes a surfactant, a stabilizer, an emulsifier, a hydrocolloidal material, a ripening inhibitor, a weighting agent, an excipient, a flavoring agent, a coloring agent, a preservative, a masking agent, a texture enhancer, or a combination thereof. Methods of making the sweetener composition are also described.

Sweetener composition and methods of making it

A breath-powered, dry powder inhaler, a cartridge, and a pulmonary drug delivery system are provided. The dry powder inhaler can be provided with or without a unit dose cartridge for using with the inhaler. The inhaler and/or cartridge can be provided with a drug delivery formulation comprising, for example, a diketopiperazine and an active ingredient, including, peptides and proteins such as insulin, oxyntomodulin and glucagon-like peptide.

Described herein are interactive apparatus and methods for sensing and measuring real-time characteristic patterns of a subject's use of a dry powder inhalation system. The devices can be used in a wired or wireless communication mode to communicate with a display to assess the subject's usage of the inhalation system, to evaluate the performance of the inhalation system and/or to detect the characteristics profile of a dry powder formulation emitted from the inhalation system in use.

Interactive apparatus and method for real-time profiling of inhalation efforts

A ceiling-mounted decontamination unit with one or more internal decontamination sources, which may be UV-C emitters, inside a housing with a hingable panel for access to the internal space of the housing for maintenance and repairs, and one or more fans inside the housing that re-circulate the air in a room and subject the air to the germicidal internal decontamination source inside the housing, decontaminating the air passing through the ceiling-mounted decontamination unit's internal space and destroying viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens. The ceiling-mounted decontamination unit draws the air in from the room or area where the ceiling-mounted unit is installed, subjects the air to the internal decontamination source destroying pathogens, and returns the decontaminated air back to the same room or area from which the air is drawn. An optional luminaire or external decontamination source may be attached to the room- or area-facing exterior of the ceiling-mounted decontamination unit.

A sweetener composition includes a plurality of assembled particles including natural, non-nutritive sweetener molecules and organic scaffold particles. The natural, non-nutritive sweetener molecules include hydrophilic moieties and hydrophobic moieties, the organic scaffold particles include at least one compositional component including a C6-C10 medium chain glyceride, and the C6-C10 medium chain glyceride includes at least 20 wt % of the total lipid content of the composition. Methods of making the sweetener composition are also described.

The device is easy to manufacture, provides a pre-metered single unit dose, it is relatively easy to use, and can be reusable or disposable.

A pulmonary drug delivery system is disclosed, including a breath-powered, dry powder inhaler, and a cartridge for delivering a dry powder formulation. The inhaler and cartridge can be provided with a drug delivery formulation comprising, for example, a diketopiperazine and an active ingredient, including, peptides and proteins such as insulin and glucagon-like peptide 1 for the treatment of endocrine disease, for example, diabetes and/or obesity.
