A child feeding system includes a spout pouch having a spout and a pouch formed integrally with the spout and configured to hold a liquid for feeding to a child, and a holder having a top and a body, the top having an opening configured to laterally receive and removably secure the spout to the holder when the spout is pushed transversely into the opening, the opening partially surrounding the spout, and the body having an interior area configured to receive at least a portion of the pouch. Other systems, methods, and components are also provided.

Child feeding system

A spout pouch, configured to removably couple to a feeding device, for feeding liquid to a child includes a spout having an inner surface that includes at least one feature selected from the group consisting of a ridge, rib, boss, recess, groove and step. The inner surface is configured to engage with a portion of the feeding device when the portion of the feeding device is inserted into the spout. The spout pouch also includes a pouch of flexible material coupled to the spout and configured to hold the liquid. Other systems, methods, and components are also provided.

A child feeding system includes a spout pouch having a spout and a pouch coupled to the spout and configured to hold a liquid for feeding to a child, a device coupled to the spout of the spout pouch and configured to allow the liquid to flow into or out from the pouch, and a holder having a top and a body, the top having an opening configured to laterally receive and removably secure the spout to the holder when the spout is pushed transversely into the opening, and the body having an interior area configured to receive at least a portion of the pouch. A method of feeding breast milk to an infant includes providing a spout pouch having a spout, providing a plurality of adapters configured to couple to the spout pouch, coupling the spout of the spout pouch to a first adapter, coupling the first adapter to a breast pump, operating the breast pump to express breast milk into the spout pouch, so that the spout pouch collects the expressed breast milk, coupling a second adapter to the spout of the spout pouch, and coupling the second adapter to a nipple, so that expressed breast milk flows from the spout pouch to the nipple. Other systems, methods, and components are also provided.

Infant feeding system

A powered orthotic system includes a wearable component having a brace, an EEG sensor, an electrically powered actuator assembly in communication with the EEG sensor, and a controller in communication with the actuator assembly that provides system parameters to control operation of the actuator assembly. The system also includes a control unit in communication with the wearable component. The control unit includes a processor that modifies the system parameters in the controller and a user interface, in communication with the processor, that permits user selection of the system parameters. The control unit includes an auto-calibration mode in which an initial EEG signal level is measured by the EEG sensor for one or more muscles of the user when the muscles are at-rest, and the initial EEG signal level is used to adjust an EEG signal level measured during subsequent operation of the wearable component.

Powered orthotic device and method of using same

A method of collecting expressed breast milk for later feeding to an infant includes providing a spout pouch, coupling the spout of the spout pouch to a breast pump, and operating the breast pump to express breast milk into the spout pouch, so that the spout pouch collects the expressed breast milk. A method of feeding a liquid to an infant includes providing the liquid in a spout pouch, and coupling a nipple to the spout of the spout pouch. A nipple for such use includes a connector having an axial bore that is coupled to an orifice in the nipple and the connector forms a liquid tight seal with the spout of the spout pouch. Other systems, methods, and components are also provided.

A powered orthotic device includes a brace having a first section and a second section, the first section and the second section operationally coupled at a pivot, the first and the second sections moving about the pivot to define flexion and extension directions, such directions defining inside and outside regions of the brace respectively. The device further includes at least one set of straps that removably attach the first section and the second section to a corresponding limb segment such that the pivot is proximate to a joint between each limb segment. The device also includes and an electromyographic sensor and an actuator assembly in communication with the electromyographic sensor, the actuator assembly mounted to the brace, and occupying a volume of which a majority is disposed proximately to the outside region of the brace, and coupled to the first and second sections of the brace so as to apply a force for driving the first and second sections about the pivot, the force based on signals from the electromyographic sensor.

A warmer, for a baby bottle, includes a warming chamber configured to hold the bottle and to place water received in the chamber in contact with the bottle; a heater, in thermal communication with the water, that heats the water to a temperature below its boiling point; and a water disposal system that automatically causes displacement of water relative to the bottle so as to substantially remove water from contacting the bottle, after the bottle has been warmed by the water. Other embodiments of the warmer are provided, along with related methods.

Baby bottle warmer and method of using same

A powered orthotic system includes a wearable component having a brace with a first section and a second section. The first and second sections are coupled to each other at a pivot. Each section is adapted to be removably attached to a corresponding first and second limb segment such that the pivot is proximate to a joint between each limb segment. The first and the second sections are movable with respect to each other to define flexion and extension directions. The wearable component also includes an electromyographic sensor, an electrically powered actuator assembly in communication with the electromyographic sensor, and a controller in communication with the actuator assembly that provides system parameters to control operation of the actuator assembly. The actuator assembly is coupled to the first and the second sections so as to apply a force that moves the first and the second sections in the flexion and/or extension directions and the force is based on signals from the electromyographic sensor. The actuator assembly is positioned proximate to the pivot. The system also includes a control unit in communication with the wearable component. The control unit includes a processor that modifies the system parameters in the controller and a user interface, in communication with the processor, that permits user selection of the system parameters.

A powered orthotic device, worn about a patient's elbow or other joint, senses relatively low level signals in the vicinity of the joint generated by a patient having spinal cord or other nerve damage. In response to the relatively low level signals, the powered orthotic device moves, causing the patient's joint to move accordingly.

A method of providing rehabilitation movement training for a person suffering from nerve damage, stroke, spinal cord injury, neurological trauma or neuromuscular disorder in attempting to move a body part about a joint using a powered orthotic device includes sensing at least one electromyographic signal of a muscle associated with motion about the joint, applying in a first direction with respect to the joint a force having a magnitude that is a first function of the at least one sensed electromyographic signal, and applying in a second direction with respect to the joint a return force that is a second function of the at least one sensed electromyographic signal, wherein the second function differs from the first function.
