The present disclosure provides a water dispersible granule formulation comprising from about 5% to about 80% (w/w) of monensin; from about 1% to about 20% (w/w) of one or more surfactants; from about 1% to about 30% (w/w) of one or more binders; from about 1% to about 90% (w/w) of one or more fillers; and water up to about 2% (w/w). The present disclosure also provides a process for the preparation of a water dispersible monensin granule formulation. The present disclosure further provides a method of administering a therapeutically effective amount of a water dispersible monensin granule formulation to an animal.

Water dispersible granules are prepared that contain low melting point pesticides and which are prepared by milling the pesticides with a first portion of finely divided filler and blending the milled mixture with a second portion of finely divided filler, wetting the blend with water and then forming granules from the wetted blend.

Water dispersible granules suitable for agricultural application are prepared by first preparing absorbent water dispersible granules and then loading biologically active substances into the preformed absorbent granules.

The invention relates to a process for the preparation of water-dispersible granules which comprises mixing the desired ingredients of the granules to form an extrudable composition, extruding the mixture, and rolling the extrusions to break them down into granules. The process of the invention is particularly suitable for the preparation of water-dispersible granules comprising agricultural chemicals (also known as dry flowables) as the process enables high production rates to be achieved and the products have high suspensibility and rapid dispersion.

The survival of micro-organisms when used in conjunction with a seed is markedly improved by using a water soluble polyvinyl-pyrrolidone in conjunction with the micro-organism. The invention is illustrated by legume seeds inoculated with an appropriate rhizobia bacteria.
